Had an opportunity to look at the new 2.5-16 x 40 and 50mm scopes at P&D yesterday, both with 30mm tubes. Seem like a great buy at $699.00. Might just have to put one on my new H S in 204 Ruger. FS

Only a couple of 2.5-16x 42's (mildot) at $699 and 2.5-16x50 (mildot) at $755 have come in so far. We are waiting for the remainder of the 6500's to arrive. Phil.

Great scope, I checked one out at Epps the other day. My only complaint is the reticle is not fine enough. I would prefer the Leupold, but same story of more money.

To answer the question of mill dot, I think it was 10X for ranging. Not 100% though.

I checked one out the other day. As much as I try to like the Bushnell Elite's, I just can't. I really wanted to like them but it's just not going to happen. Not the scope for me. Your milleage may vary.

I looked at a 6500 Elite, which just came in. 6.5-20x I believe not positive. I tried the optics indoor only (50 yards) with the parrallex set down to an acceptable level. I also brought the power level right down to get a better idea of the optics clarity.

First of all the build quality still feels like a lower priced scope to me. It seems solid enough but the look just isn't there. It just doesn't work. The best example of this would be the writting on the scope. It has that upscaled "Tasco" look to it. Second of all I find the lens has a very slight almost amberish hue to it as if someone is trying to fake the optics being brighter than they are or increase contrast with colour. The clarity of the glass itself was decent, but compared to the Zeiss Conquest it was a shade below. The crosshair multi x or whatever they call it was nothing special and was yet another weak point on this scope. With the colour looking slightly off, and the overall cheap look of the build quality it just doesn't do it for me.

It's a decent offering at the price point. But when you factor in the cost is about $200 less than a top quality scope. It seems to make sense just to pay the extra $200. Seems cheaper in the long run.
Personally I consider the Burris scopes to be a far better buy at the lower rung. Leupold VXIII and ZEISS conquest are better buys at the slightly higher level in price.

Keep in mind I know this is just my opinion. Others may like this scope.

it was most likely a 4200 if it was a 6.5-20

I handled both the 2.5-16x42 today ($699) and the 4.5-30x50 ($899). Im impressed. Pretty damn nice scope

I didn't look at the magnification.
However it was a 6500. That was the only reason I bothered to look at it.

Gees, $899 is getting more expensive that many Leupold VXIII scopes, including the 4.5-14x40 LR's, and awfully close in price to the Leupold 6.5-20x50LR Target VXIII scopes at $1000+/-. Are the 6500's truly comparable, feature for feature to the VXIII's in this price range ? I am very, very sceptical....

We now have all models(some limited numbers) of the 6500's in stock at this time. 2.5-16x42(fine multi X and mildot)...$669. 2.5-16X50 (fine multi X and mildot)...$755 and 4.5-30x50 (fine multi X and mildot) $863. The quality appears exactly what I expected from top line Bushnell products...mid high end glass with decent prices for the quality and maginification you get. Phil.
