10 years ago a buddy of mine decided he wanted his first o/u and called me to ask, a used Citori he was looking at or a new Stoeger for $600 less. I said the B gun all the way so he bought the S gun. He shows up that fall for his annual fly out waterfowl hunting trip with that S gun in tow. He left his A-5 at home, brought only the Condor, no back-up gun.
Next morning we are set up and in comes the first ducks. I said they are all yours. He stands and fires his first shot and with birds still hanging over the decoys doesn't fire his second shot. I tease him, too close for you for the second shot? He says gun didnt fire, I pulled the trigger and it didn't fire. I must have done something wrong, these fat fingers I guess.
Next birds in same thing again, and again and again and this is how it goes almost each time. It fired the second shot maybe twice in a dozen attempts. He switched ammo, changed bbl firing order, checked safety and nothing. Brand new right out of the box it won't fire the second bbl 95% of the time and to this day he has never used that gun again. Its a gun safe decoration.
He finished his hunt that morning using my Winchester 101 that was on its 30th season with no less than 50,000 rounds through it and never having skipped a beat ever whether hunting or skeet shooting in those 30 years. You can't not afford a quality gun if you want your shooting experiences to be memorable in a good way.
