Over pressure at 2 grains below max?

That’s not supposed to happen. In the front receiver ring, the front screw hole should be blind, only the rear one is drilled all the way through.

If that’s what’s going on, the brass will flow up into that hole and prevent the cartridge from freely rotating as you lift the bolt.

Or, there’s a serious defect in your chamber. Get a bore scope in there and see what’s going on.
Yes that’s exactly what’s happening.
I believe it wasn’t happening when I had the rail on , because the screws were longer and were flush

The above pic with the Allen wrench says it all 🙂
There is no issue in through drilling a receiver, be it scooe base screws or even action screws , drilling through to the barrel is another matter altogether!😒

WHO INSTALLED THE RAIL? That is most likely when the barrel was damaged.

The action is perfectly fine and it is not dangerous to fire it. The worst that could happen is a 'plug' of brass blows out through the screw hole, straight up and extraction will be a problem.

The rail came from factory .
It was shooting great until I swapped the rail for Talleys.
Now I can’t find the rail

I was not aware the public can buy a firearm directly from the factory. Did you buy this rifle directly from the factory with that rail installed?

lol, I bought it off one of the site sponsors a couple of years ago, new in box
I’m after buying and selling so many guns,I have no idea where I bought.

All I know is I purchased several years ago, brand new.
Sent it to gun smith last year and had barrel shortened and open sights installed.
I wanted to get the scope lower so I ordered a set of talley low rings a couple of months ago and removed rail and installed talley mounts.
And fired it for first time yesterday.

OK guys ,I had a memory lapse lol

When I tried to remove the factory rail the front screw got stripped out.
I had to drill a hole through the screw to get it out.
I guess I went too far … lol
Also that’s why I can’t find the rail

It’s been a rough year

So what you think is a fair price? Tally rings and 4 mags

You screwed the pooch. What a clusterf##k of a thread this has been!

I think $400 would be a fair price for a Portuguese made action... don't know if the action is metric threaded for the barrel.

Thinking I’ll get a CFW barrel this time around.. again 😂
Any thoughts on a CFW barrel? No proof or CA though.
Was thinking maybe an IBI or ???

Keep the sights, rings and all but one magazine.
If you can get $450 delivered good on you but I think it’s a little optimistic for a $800 gun (new).
Likely $300 to $350.
So $500 plus the smith work to get you back to where you wanted to be.
I’ve had steeper learning curves…
