Nice rifle. The 7.62x39 would be the ticket for me but that 10round mag is a deal killer. It's useless unless one is headed off to war.

No worries on that front. They also make 5 round flush fit mags for these rifles. And, unlike some other companies, they actually sell them for decent prices. I think the last spare I picked up was 40$ or so.

I already have an Alpha in x39 but I definitely want to get my hands on one of these and see how they feel. 1 in 7 twist on the 223 model with an 18.5" barrel has me intrigued.

It should work just fine, you can trade a 5 rounder for it with SuperCub!

Probably not. Just personal preference of steel > aluminum.
