If they based it on looks then hasn't anyone given them one to tear apart and find out that it should be non-res? Has everyone just given up? I'm sure the RCMP don't want to be given one, other wise they'd have to re-classify it as non-res.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

They classified it as prohib based on looks. This was apparently done at the SHOT show.

Blue Line Activities, the GSG-5 importer, apparently gave the RCMP lab a production model to re-evaluate so as to determine whether or not it is an MP5 variant. It should be noted the MP5 is prohib by name and all variants are thusly prohibited. The GSG-5 is being marketed as an MP5 variant, of sorts.

At this point in time it appears the importation process is dead in the water. I personally suspect the RCMP are unwilling to re-class the GSG because if they do they face a whole swamp load of appeals because many of the firearms that are prohibited were thusly classified without logic. If you want logic, ignore gun politics and find another hobby.

It doesn't get much clearer than that. Buy a 10/22 and mod it.:D:runaway:

Calico in 22,
American 180,
AK "variants" (in reality only appearance)
any 22 "variant" of the ones prohib by name (Uzi, AUG, etc),
and few others I don't remember now.

Well, I might be wrong,
but you can't own one of these as a firearm owner,
even if you have a 12x licence,
since the gun cannot enter the country as a grandfathered gun,
but only as a newly imported.
IIRC, only companies (such as movie props and such) can have it.
Again, I'm not entirely sure for the above statements.

I've tried to call tech branch on many numerous occasions regarding the GSG-5 and they haven't ONCE returned my phone messages when I was assured by the CFC that they would.

I'd personally like to see a Frredom to Information Request on the evaluation criteria that they based their "prohib" status on. Then, give the media another "evil RCMP" story to draw attention to their increasing lax of professionalism and disregard.

A little well placed heat on the asses of tech branch should make them at least aware that the firearms community is aware of what is going on around them and won't take bull#### like this. It's their job to enforce the letter of the law not interpret it, or make things up as they go.

but thats what Cuckier wanted she didn't want them to enforce the letter of the law she wanted them to ban all guns.

They have done pretty much what every they can to enfroce her agenda they use creative licance when ever possible the CFC does it to they neglect to answer comments try asking them what could happen to you if your issued an in accurate firearm registraion certificate of which they're are thousands atleast icluding one for a 120 volt ac sodering gun
