Best budget scopes for rimfire?

I’ve just picked up a cz457 American and looking for a scope, for small game and targets out to 100, can I get a decent scope on that for under 300? Any recommendations for what I should check out?

These little Burris Scopes are an awesome value for the money, I have had some for over twenty years, never an issue for me. Their glass is high quality and made in the Philippine's....:)

For under your $300.00 budget, it's a tough one to beat. I'm not a Vortex fan, their cheap scopes are made in China, and are just that cheap. The odds are you will need their infamous warranty on a Vortex Scope..........:unsure:

Joshc - Amazoom has many scopes that will serve your purpose. 05RAV is right about UUQ, i have used many of their products. And the reflex/laser red dot is great if you want a night-time 'dot' on the target for ca $50-ish.
 
Just don't buy anything that specifically mentions Rimfire in its name. Those tend to be trash tbh... I like Bushnell, Athlon, and the older Burris Fullfield E1 if you can find it. I'm a sucker for high zoomies though, at least 10x but I like 15ish or more.

Discovery Optics is honestly great for the price but heavy; I personally wouldn't bother with UUQ. I've tried one of their 4x fixed magnification scopes and it wasn't AWFUL, but I regretted not spending a little more.

This is good advice. The Burris Rimfire droptines have a parallax set at ~50yds. This is an important feature of Rimfire scopes, while ‘regular’ scopes have a parallax set for ~100yds. An adjustable parallax circumvents this, but (in my opinion) is largely unnecessary for a utility/hunting rifle and adds unnecessary weight, cost and complications.

The Burris has a simple BDC reticle calibrated for 22lr. With a 50yd zero, the hashmarks below the centre crosshair represent 25yd increments. Pretty reliably from my experience. They have decent glass and are made in the Philippines.

I’d say it’s the best ‘utility’ Rimfire scope for the money, allows enough magnification for fun at the range, but practical features for a streamlined hunting scope.
 
Any cheap scope I got off Amazon are sitting in a junk box because they broke, or was returned because the quality was that bad.

Spend a little more and get something less airsoft quality.
 
100 yds with a cz 457? Anything. If it tracks and the reticle isn't painted on the lens you will be good to go.

I'd agree with the comments about avoiding rimfire-specific scopes in that price range.

Riton, Better glass, more features, good warranty.
 
My first rifle was a CZ 457 synthetic. I bought a Vortex crossfire 2 3-9X40 it was great, but i just replaced it. I'd consider selling it. are you in Ontario? I replaced it with the Vortex Crossfire HD 4-12x44

Your comment above is actually false. Many great scope manufacturers specifically make a rimfire version with a parallax of approximately 50 yards. They are well made, I highly recommend them!......:)

These include Leupold, Burris, Crimson Trace, Nikon (no longer available), and Weaver.

The less expensive or cheaper made rimfire scopes include Vortex, Bushnell, Barska, BSA, and Simmons.

I have used the cheaper made models, and they actually can work if you are lucky enough to end up with a good one.

Price point, warranty, and availability may all play into your decision...:)
