Fair play, I was being too broad with my personal experience. I forgot the exact model but it was a Vortex and a Burris I believe that had rimfire in the name and they were the worst glass I've seen.Your comment above is actually false. Many great scope manufacturers specifically make a rimfire version with a parallax of approximately 50 yards. They are well made, I highly recommend them!......
These include Leupold, Burris, Crimson Trace, Nikon (no longer available), and Weaver.
The less expensive or cheaper made rimfire scopes include Vortex, Bushnell, Barska, BSA, and Simmons.
I have used the cheaper made models, and they actually can work if you are lucky enough to end up with a good one.
Price point, warranty, and availability may all play into your decision...

The fixed shorter distance parallax is interesting, didn't know that, all the scopes I've bought since have had adjustable side focus with 25 yards being the lowest, typically.
I'd hate to be locked at 50 yards, I'd still recommend something that has adjustable side focus.
