Best budget scopes for rimfire?

I have used the cheaper made models, and they actually can work if you are lucky enough to end up with a good one.

Price point, warranty, and availability may all play into your decision...:)

Fair play, I was being too broad with my personal experience. I forgot the exact model but it was a Vortex and a Burris I believe that had rimfire in the name and they were the worst glass I've seen.

The fixed shorter distance parallax is interesting, didn't know that, all the scopes I've bought since have had adjustable side focus with 25 yards being the lowest, typically.

I'd hate to be locked at 50 yards, I'd still recommend something that has adjustable side focus.

I understand your frustration with receiving two bad rimfire model scopes......:(

Vortex scopes that are made in China, along with other Chinese manufactured brands can be a crapshoot when buying......:oops:

You are not locked in at 50 yards with a 50 yard parallax scope. My wife and I shoot regularly to 100 and 150 yards (gophers), with rimfire model scopes, and have great success doing so........(y)

We have had tremendous success with the Burris Droptine Rimfire Scopes in the 3-9x40mm BDC models. I believe we own 5 or six of them now. We never had a Burris Scope requiring warranty as of yet......:) (these scopes are made in the Philippines)
 
An email just arrived from a site sponsor advertising a Riton Optics X1 Conquer 6-24 X 50 with side focus for $299.99. Apparently it can focus down to 10 yards out. I've never seen one let alone used one, but it seems like a candidate that can cover a lot of needs.
 
I'll second the Athlon Neos for that price range. If you're shooting out to 100 that focus knob on the left side (what are those things called again?) is nice to have.

I know some people hate them, but my Vortex Crossfire has turned many grouse into dinner. And it's hardly had a gentle life -- that rifle is always somewhere handy when I'm driving down a logging road in hunting season.

Heheh i looked for it and found it, did a bit of research and at that price hard to beat for what you get so I went for it should be here by friday, now to start searching the EE etc… for a t1x to hold it up! Sometimes it goes that way.
