Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get a centre-fire semiautomatic tactical rifle and was looking and the following choices. Personally prefer the tactical look. I keep seeing posts about reliability with all the newer rifles so hoping people who have personal experience can let me know if these are reliable or not worth the risk.
1. Carmel
2. Makasi
3. Adler AD500
4. Chimera
5. SKS
6. Crusader Arm Backland Comp
7. Henry homesteader 9mm

Or are they just not worth getting at this point. If so should I just get a MRA renegade or a bolt action Benelli Lupo instead?

So many choices hard to narrow down. Will be shooting at the range only, no plans for hunting.

I’m also planning to get a 22LR like the Dehya so that part is covered.

I’d take a chance on the Makasi, I’m sure the bugs will get worked out.
It’s about the most Aesthetically looking rifle offered right now, if you’re looking for something that closely resembles an AR15.

Welcome
I'd choose the Henry as it has a great warrant and inexpensive to shoot.
I'd also recommend a nice bolt action 22.
Cz or Tikka.
Very high quality, inexpensive to shoot and will teach you some great fundamentals.

If you want something that will always go bang, just buy an sks. Might not be the most accurate but like I said, it is a proven rifle and will always work for you. Plus it has a huge aftermarket for it so you can dress it up however you want.

If you're looking for a more tactical gun I would suggest either the carmel or Makasi. I personally would go with the carmel because I like iwi. Even though it's new I don't think there will be any problems. The Makasi on the other hand, I think it will have a lot more bugs to work out. My other concern with it is they will try and claim it as a FAL variant and ban it that way.

Just my 2 cents

I was wondering if you know what I need to replace the stock on the Makasi? I want something more adjustable. Thanks
