I've paid for an awaiting the delivery of the 270 CRF featherweight , has that vx freedom 4-12x40 mm scope , 12 months old fired 80 rounds at range.
The price was too good to pass up at 1500 AUD scoped , it is on other side of Aus so cost a 100 proberly to get it here an both dealers put a 50 transfer on it each way before I legally own it / registered to me.
An I apply for a permit to acquire said gun an calibre for a *genuine reason , that takes 3 weeks to process..
So , by spring it will be Walnut an blued steel

I think you found a deal even if you have to wait all that time placed upon you by your gubberment.
Also, the one mentioned in the EE isnt to shabby a deal for those here in Canada.

I was a the range with my new to me 1976 m70 in 300win mag after working the stock and a full cleaning of the metal and adjusting the trigger. I grabbed some federal blue box 180gn ammo and shot the gun, she feel good, even if to me 300 win mag always felt like they have more recoil than needed hahaha feel worst than my 9.3x62 and maybe even my 458 win mag 
. Anyway the rifle is in like new conditions metal wise, no wear at all of the blueing, the wood I redid, I free floated the barrel( it was touching on one side of the channel) but didnāt glass bed it yet but I will cause that rifle doesnāt shoot worth #### , could be the ammo could be the lack of bedding but I aināt impressed just yet! That said I was able to hit the 200m gong and really close to hit the 300m one.
So inside 200m it would be ok but I need that thing to shoot better than that, so first step is to properly bed the action since all the rest is good( scope bases, rings, scope it self, trigger etc).

I think you'll like that rifle a lot. Great rifle in a great cartridge.
I bought a new stainless featherweight in 6.5 Creedmoor a few years ago now and it's a wonderful rifle. I've been spoiled with Tikka triggers over the years so I replaced the stock trigger with a Timney. The blade is a little more flat than I like but the pull weight is great. I haven't measured it but I'd say it brought the weight down by about half and it's gotta be in the 2 pound range now.
Going to get it bobbed to 20" (just personal preference) and have it bedded as well just for good measure.

Model 70's seemed to have stayed relatively reasonably priced for the quality you're getting and it's hard not to recommend them to someone who's looking for a good quality rifle with the features it has. Let us know how it shoots when it finally arrives.

Picked up some Speer 130gr hot cor and a jug of 4350 (ar2209)
I have some factory federals sp and those XP3s aswell as almost a full box of 130gr cor lokt tips, which I'll reload first up!

WL, remember that the Speer Hot Core is similar to but not the same as bonded core bullets.
It's old school tech, and it works best with loads developed for the velocities they were designed to stand up well at, as well as being acceptably accurate for hunting purposes.
My 270win shoots these bullets well. I built it on a Rem700 LA with a Shilen 1-9 twist rate barrel.
The reamer was ordered with a longer than SAAMI spec throat, to be able load heavier bullets, 150+ out further, so as not to impede powder space.
IMR4350 is a great powder for this cartridge, but the other you might want to consider, just because it gives slightly slower velocities and very consistent accuracy, is H100V, which, for now at least, is readily available in Canada. I believe it's actually made in Australia and marketed under a Hodgdon label in North America.
My go to IMR4350 load is 55.0 grains over CCI250 primers. I find that magnum primers work best under all conditions in Canada. I get appx 2900fps with the 130gr Hot Core from a 23 inch bbl.
The H100V load is identical, but about 50fps slower. Accuracy is better, and it performs very well on game up to large Deer and Bears.
You may have some initial accuracy issues with that FWT. The last two I owned had sloppy inletting, and they both needed to be glass bedded.

i think the interbonds will be the big deer medicine, the hot cors a target plinker an picky shots on them

I bought a brand new M70 FWT in 7-08 about 5 years ago and the inletting on it was also fairly sloppy; I had it glass bedded as well.
Iāve since moved it on down the trail, but it was a classy little rifle, for sure.
I want a 270. Every time I go to get one I look at what Iām doing with 308 and the 130 grain ttsx and realize that I probably wonāt be doing much different with the 270.
I have seen 7mm-08 compared to the 270 a lot. In my opinion these are all good mountain hunting cartridges.
Still might get 270 one day maybe even in a fast twist barrel if the longer bullets remain available.

Yeah fair call on a 130 TTSX in.30 cal! Hum dinging...
I'm a shocker... Alot of my guns are doing the same stuff... Don't tell the registry though.
Most average 150gr at 2600fps lol.

Success with a 130gr Interbond load - which I wanted as "Big Deer" medicine-
pretty much a Max load produced the Goods- seated to cannelure which creates a short OAL but seems to have done the job nicely.
will confirm down the track when the rifle transition from Safe Queen to Occaisonal Fine Weather hunter.
Thus Far ive got a good accurate load with
130gr Corlokt reloads. flat base
140gr Accubond CT Supreme factory boat tail
150gr Hot Cor reloads flat base
an now the 130gr interbond boat tail
will be trying some more of the 130gr HPTB SGK
and there is some 130gr Hot Cor to use down the track too.
happy with using the Hot cor 150gr SP for Deer in the nearer future.
