I've paid for an awaiting the delivery of the 270 CRF featherweight , has that vx freedom 4-12x40 mm scope , 12 months old fired 80 rounds at range.
The price was too good to pass up at 1500 AUD scoped , it is on other side of Aus so cost a 100 proberly to get it here an both dealers put a 50 transfer on it each way before I legally own it / registered to me.
An I apply for a permit to acquire said gun an calibre for a *genuine reason , that takes 3 weeks to process..
So , by spring it will be Walnut an blued steel

I think you found a deal even if you have to wait all that time placed upon you by your gubberment.
Also, the one mentioned in the EE isnt to shabby a deal for those here in Canada.

I was a the range with my new to me 1976 m70 in 300win mag after working the stock and a full cleaning of the metal and adjusting the trigger. I grabbed some federal blue box 180gn ammo and shot the gun, she feel good, even if to me 300 win mag always felt like they have more recoil than needed hahaha feel worst than my 9.3x62 and maybe even my 458 win mag 
. Anyway the rifle is in like new conditions metal wise, no wear at all of the blueing, the wood I redid, I free floated the barrel( it was touching on one side of the channel) but didnāt glass bed it yet but I will cause that rifle doesnāt shoot worth #### , could be the ammo could be the lack of bedding but I aināt impressed just yet! That said I was able to hit the 200m gong and really close to hit the 300m one.
So inside 200m it would be ok but I need that thing to shoot better than that, so first step is to properly bed the action since all the rest is good( scope bases, rings, scope it self, trigger etc).

I think you'll like that rifle a lot. Great rifle in a great cartridge.
I bought a new stainless featherweight in 6.5 Creedmoor a few years ago now and it's a wonderful rifle. I've been spoiled with Tikka triggers over the years so I replaced the stock trigger with a Timney. The blade is a little more flat than I like but the pull weight is great. I haven't measured it but I'd say it brought the weight down by about half and it's gotta be in the 2 pound range now.
Going to get it bobbed to 20" (just personal preference) and have it bedded as well just for good measure.
A lot of rifles have crept up in price these last 5 years or so and aren't nearly as good of a deal as they once were. Model 70's seemed to have stayed relatively reasonably priced for the quality you're getting and it's hard not to recommend them to someone who's looking for a good quality rifle with the features it has. Let us know how it shoots when it finally arrives.
