6.5x55 hunting bullet choice

I packed it for moose and whitetail deer. Didn't get a shot when packing the rifle
1:8 twist stabilized it well
+1. The Barnes bullets penetrate like almost nothing else. I have some 6.5mm 127gr LRX bullets I planned to use for a moose load, but never got the tag so they sit on the shelf in my reloading room. I figure they would be good for anything short of elk or grizzly.

Theres a few other good testimonies of what the 100gr does on the board as well. Couple moose taken very cleanly 260 rem etc.
I haven't yet but like I said after seeing it go through enough spine etc and not get caught, no worries here. Shots that went through ribs left nice holes too. They're hard to top.
If a guy said thats too light for him thrn the 127 is superb but plenty of testimony on the 120gr ttsx too. I find the others open a bit easier tho but could be wrong
I will try some 100grn partitions I loaded next year maybe. Just haven't committed to monos for anything yet. But I want to use my 7x57 or 300 savage this year
I should really make the jump though for everything.
The 100grn cup and core did the job, but last year was close amd it was pretty explosive at 3000fps.
I've had good success on whitetails with my sako 85 using 140 partitions and 160 Hornady RN's, partitions didn't group quite as tight as I would have liked but like others have said every rifle is different. The 160 RN's on the other hand had 1/2" groups at 100m
Swedish M96 and M38 were built with a 1:7.9 twist. Considering the original 1896 load was about 160 gr.
M70 Zastava is twisted at 1:9. I have no problem with 156 PPU RN SP printing small groups, and I load hot for the both the Zastava and my old Swedes with no evidence of excessive pressure. Interestingly, 85 gr JHP Sierras hit within an inch of the 156 PPUs.
That's why I love these rifles!
I use the 140gr SST, which is just a boat tailed version of the interlock. They have shot well for me out of several rifles and the deer has died every time I put the hole in the right place. They are a basic cup and core bullet, so they aren't super tough, but they work fine on thin skinned medium game at the moderate velocities we see out of the 6.5x55.

Any of the popular cup and core tipped bullets or LRX / TTSX will work well. I'm more curious about your powder & brass choices and if you plan on loading these up to the full potential of the t3x action.
Use data specifically for the Swedish military94/ 96/38 mausers . 42gr of either N204 or IMR 4350 behind a 160gr Hornady or a 156RNSP will always penetrate both sides of a moose . Re22 is awesome for the 129-140gr cup +cores. Don't be afraid to seat the bullets out long to fit the magazine just shy of the rifling. They have long throats.
It's a cartridge that falls between the cracks Down Under.
It's not legal for our big Sambar, (.270/130g min)

For my sorta bush stalking a heavy for cal SP would be ideal an the swede would handle the sambar no worries

that’s a Nice Whitey 
6.5x55 Sweders are nearly ALL 1-8 twists and will stabilize a 150 ABLR bullet just Fine
I have a T3 and had it Reamed to 6.5 x 55 Ai 40 degree and I call it the “ Super Swede “
