Thats awesome! Whats the barrel length on that version?

It's the "Sawtooth" version of the Sig Cross with a 16" Proof Research carbon fibre barrel. I had the standard 16" steel barrel version of the Sig Cross before this one, and to be fair it was slightly more repeatable in the accuracy department. But at a full pound lighter, I can handle the ~1/8 to 1/4 MOA difference between the two.

long range target shooting and mentioning pumps and auto loaders in the same sentence is not going to work
A med to light weight sporter in 260 rem 7 mm 08 or a 270 win will cover accuracy and capable of killing moose out to 350 yds

Oh heck if you find the handiness matters, trading a pound for the width of a dime in accuracy sounds good haha.

I've thought of the longer barreled versioned ones at times, they seem like a really good rifle! happy yours shoots like it does, wow

Not quite a "do all" as you can not hunt with it in Southern Ontario.
True, and this is where most Canadians live. Can you hunt with a rifle at all in southern Ontario? Maybe an 870 shotgun with a selection of barrels including slug would be the ticket, no? That's what i used when i lived there way back (still have the gun, too.) Population density has made the whole region significantly a sacrifice area when it comes to supporting the shooting sports, and been very hard on the natural world in general. It's a shame, the biodiversity is the highest in the country, for the same reasons that supported such dense settlement. A truly avid hunter might be smart to emigrate from the region...

But theres rifles that DO fit the bill tho. Someone can use those.

The rules in Ontario seem dumb though yeah lol

Davey, why did you delete my post asking why you took a personal swipe about the guy on where he's from, but still reply to it....and block me from the thread?

1/2 of the hunters don’t live there.

BC and Alberta have 2/3's the population of Ontario but more PAL holders.

As far as biodiversity, the Management Unit that I live in has 9 Species of Big Game, and had 11 if you count Wolf and the extirpated Caribou as Big Game.

The thread is about a universal rifle that would do everything. You kind of missed the whole point of the topic. That's OK because here in Ontario we do realize how "challenged" the rest of Canada actually is.

Legalities prevent a do it all rifle (or shotgun). Ontario has it's 270 rule, BC has a bullet weight and energy requirement for Buffalo and a "Shotgun with Shot" Zone and shotguns aren't legal for anything bigger than Deer or Black Bear in BC.
