Who in ON is wating for a transfer? how long?

Here is another proverbial salt to the wound. I did a trade with a member from BC. Just got a PM his transfer is done mine will be another 4 weeks :(

Both stated on the same day....wait actually he started a day earlier than I.

WTF.

Foot dragging is a Premier initiative...

Call CFC week 5 and have them transfer you to CFO TRANSFER DESK, as always ask politliy and indicate number of days waiting. Should be shortly there after.

Transfers don't take 4 weeks it's as simple as that. Nothing more than foot dragging. By the way what exactly caused this sudden so called back log???
 
Well, in my case...

Called Ellwood to finalize information on Wensday, Followed up with Ellwood next day - was told about the usual 4-6 weeks for paperwork.

Phoned Alberta CFO and spoke to a really nice lady :)
Was told the transfer of reg was completed and ATT was sent via fax (as indicated by the computer system). Ellwood didn't have the info (Ont CFO screwing around?). The nice lady asked if I would like them to fax the reg & ATT info directly to Ellwood...

My Beretta should be shipped Friday :D

Grand total ... 3 days

I havent done private transfers yet, but here, it's usually 5 to 7 business days for store bought guns. You guys are getting the shaft.
 
Does it make a difference if Ontario residents purchased a restricted outside of the province?

Like the above post...If I buy a handgun in Alberta? Will I get it faster?? Or does it still get tied down in Ontario paperwork?
 
I'm at 4 weeks and waiting for a Radom VIS35.

Methinks they are being obstructionist on purpose. And in my case it is a dealer transfer.
 
Something is a bit unclear here to me!! If I purchase a firearm, from a dealer in Ontario, does the transaction pass through the Ontario CFO?? I was under the impression that the transaction, initiated by dealer, to CFC, was redirected to CFO BC. (for me), then back to CFC for registration, as well as dealer for shipping etc??? If the CFO in Ontario has anything to do with my purchases/transfers etc, I have purchased my last firearm from any one/thing in Ontario.

doesn't metter where you guy it's still goes thru your the CFO of your province...
