Was at P&D yesterday and they received a great assortment of Sierra bullets, every thing from 20 cal 39gr and up, seem a little more expensive than they were last year, but what isn't? FS

The price of base metals (copper, lead) all went up. That increase was passed along.

P&d, my one stop shopping center everytime I'm back that way for a visit.:D Good to hear about the selection of Sierra bullets available. As a 'go to' bullet for accuracy, they've always performed well for me in just about any caliber.:)

Johnn, are those Sierra bullets real accurate? I'm thinking of a .25 caliber Gameking in 100 or 117 gr for antelope (thin, thin skinned). I just can't get the Hornady Interlocks to group tighter than 1.25" (not surprised).

If you are shooting 100 gr, try Speer 100 gr HP - they shot more acccurate for me than Nosler Partitions. Deadly on mulies so it should work well on antelope.

On my shopping trip to P&d after I got my 25-06, I picked up a selection of bullets to test, one of which was the Sierra 117gr SBT. They were the first one I tried. In the Sierra manual they seem to favour RE-22 powder in their accuracy loads listed but the closest I had was IMR 4831 & IMR 4350. The other thing I did was to extend the C.O.A.L. to minimize the freebore. After sighting in @ 100 yds I pinned up one of my 'home-made' targets @ 185 yds and shot a three shot group that measured 0.486" :Dthat was witnessed by two guys at the range who also signed the target. As of yet I haven't even tried any of the other bullets as I think I'll be hard pressed to improve on what I've done with the Sierra's.
I've scanned the target and recently sent it to someone else but if you're interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you a copy of it. I've got the basic reload info on the scan as well as a penny for a size reference.
Also, I had a bunch of old shabby golf balls that I drilled a hole through and then pinned up @ 185 yds. They just explode when you're 'playing' golf with a 25-06.:sniper: Probably as close to playing golf as I'll ever come.;)
In answer to your question, yes, I've found them to be very accurate. In my 308NM, I've found the 200gr SBT accuracy to be better than anything else I've tried. I load the 250gr SBT for my son in his 338WM and he's well pleased with not only the accuracy but also the performance on game.
