The problem is that these rifles are not scarce at this particular moment. Shipments came into dealers all across the country, and lots of people bought them in the past few months (hence, why so many on the EE lately). When the supply gets leaner, and the price goes back up to $2999 (which it will), then you'll pull better offers.
I would say $2700 is a fair price right now, if you don't mind waiting. But, $2400 will move it fast.

2600-2700, being just over 3000 w/tax new.
The suppliers price went down so i doubt the price will jump up because shipments slow down, if they do. it's begining to look like some people will have to eat their words about the new importer.

I'd say $2500 is a fair price. $2600-2700 if you can manage to rip off a newbie.

On the contrary, as I understand R Nichols brought in a sizeable order already and sold many through various dealers including the newer carbines in various lengths ie. 14.5" and 16" with diopter sites while TSE is still awaiting their orders. TSE only had the flattop version of the carbine in 17.5" as I understand. The Wolverine ones (from Nichols) did not have the TSE logo etched on the rifle which makes it more attractive to some and also in different colour furniture.
This in my mind is great because with the dual source, there is more competition ie. the pricing went down to $2800 from the $3000 when only one supplier had these.
The EE listed and sold them at various prices... as low as $2200 and up based upon the buyer/seller. Once the 10 rd compatible Tavors are out, I think more will come on the market as some ppl sell their Swiss.
As previously stated, these will be more readily available than in the past which should keep the prices down.
If somebody is going to pay over $2000 for a rifle, why not pay the extra 3 to 5% more over what ppl are asking used to get a new one given that you have the peace of mind that it hasn't been abused or shot up with cheap corrosive ammo.

No kidding,not sure WTF that's all about. if one of mine go up it'll be years from now with a high round count and well used.
The full length rifle version is a pretty heavy piece of hardware. Some people don't like the weight or aren't comfortable carrying it all day afield or don't like the balance. Thus, they try to move it in order to put their money toward another new toy.
That's me.... didn't like the weight of the Black Special.
