Throwing around the idea of a gopher gun with explosive results whats your guys opinions. I forgot .204 Ruger with 32gr v-max anyway to add it?

I use a .204 and it seems to have impressive results on gophers. I've been looking to switch to a .223 since i don't handload and ammo would be much cheaper.

.22 WMR. Cheaper to shoot than factory loaded centerfire stuff, and it's less formal since you don't have to load up and save your brass. Powerful enough for longer shots, and explosive enough to make you go gigidy gigidy.

Own one already and a sporter weight .22-250 Plus I reload. But yes the .22 WMR is fun indeed

Than upgrade your optics on both rifles and buy plenty of ammo for both. A .22 mag and a .22-250, seems like you have your bases covered.

22lr for the bulk of the slaughter with a decent centerfire 223 or 22-250 for backflips and vaporizations.

I got my .22, .223 and .204.

I love them all. .204 isnt the cheapest ammo available but it is fun to shoot. Moves DAMN fast. Its my favorite by far.

.17hmr .22lr .22wmr .222rem .22-250 i recently found a .219 donaldson wasp, that sounds very interesting but I didn't take it home. Everything in your poll would work just fine. Buy them all and report back.

I'd like to try the 204 Ruger as well. That being said I'm still awful partial to the Old Man's 219 Donaldson Wasp.

Why arent the 17HMR or .204 Ruger mentioned here? The .204 is a whizbang for gophers. They do a dance in midair. I have a Ruger .204 Ruger heavy barrel. I looked at a Henry lever 17HMR today. Would that be accurate. The bolts are stiff on the Savage.
