What do you do when a round detonates before it is completely inside the chamber and blows the extractor in half? This actually happened to me so I know it can happen. The bolt needs to be removed in order to replace the broken extractor. Thats gonna be kinda tough with the receiver welded shut. It's as simple of welding a couple of blobs of weld to the inside of the tube, or just welding the stock to the trigger housing.
An open bolt semi short stroking on underpowered rounds is not, I repeat NOT, firing in full auto. It is in fact malfunctioning. Full auto fire is repeatable and controllable. Short stroking is neighter repeatable nor controllable. The difference is that this can not run full auto with low powered rounds, with the sear slot welded on the bolt it still can
Scarecrow,
your method will do nothing to stop a gun running full auto with low powered rounds.
