Sten full auto to semi auto bolt converter

It's as simple of welding a couple of blobs of weld to the inside of the tube, or just welding the stock to the trigger housing.
What do you do when a round detonates before it is completely inside the chamber and blows the extractor in half? This actually happened to me so I know it can happen. The bolt needs to be removed in order to replace the broken extractor. Thats gonna be kinda tough with the receiver welded shut.

The difference is that this can not run full auto with low powered rounds, with the sear slot welded on the bolt it still can
An open bolt semi short stroking on underpowered rounds is not, I repeat NOT, firing in full auto. It is in fact malfunctioning. Full auto fire is repeatable and controllable. Short stroking is neighter repeatable nor controllable.

Scarecrow,

your method will do nothing to stop a gun running full auto with low powered rounds.

The reason as far as I am concerned is that it makes me sleep easy knowing that it can not be made to fire full auto
Really? You think that can't be gotten around? Then you don't really understand how a Sten trigger group works.

It is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to prevent an open bolt Sten from firing more than one round with a single pull of the trigger.

Remove the entire trigger group, insert mag, pull bolt back and let her fly. What is your bolt addition going to do to stop the gun emptying the mag?

I would rather own an open bolt sten as well. I may give it a whirl further down the road. But along with legal, one must also worry about safe. It was engineers that designed the sten; there was some degree of science and physics involved. When you change part of the equation, the final product will not likely be the same.
The Sten as it was originally designed wasn't exactly the safest gun in the world. There were modifications made to improve its safety.

I have questioned if it is a necessity on the last page, or maybe the one before that, but no one seems to know. I only mentioned that it could be done to shut the doom and gloomers up before they started up again.

Yes really. :) I understand how a sten trigger mechanism works and because of this have taken measures to make sure that it can not be got at without having to cut metal. This was part of the specifications that got my open bolt semi sten build approved.
