So basically, you were passing judgement on a topic you know nothing about. Your credibility is HUGE!!

Well being one that works in heavy loud environments as well,I bet your work place habits had a lot more to do with your hearing loss than your rifle shooting.Of course it would be different if you said you were an artillery outfit commander. When I was younger I fired rifles and worked in a very loud work place for years without wearing proper hearing protection I am now totally deaf in my left ear and have lost the capability to hear high tones in my right.
I will never again fire a round or be near anyone else that fires a round with out hearing protection and to read anyone promoting shooting without hearing protection especially with any kind of a brake installed I feel should have a foot shoved up their *ss for the ignorance that they are promoting

You are entitled to your opinion as I mine but your "sticking a foot up ones ass" comment just stirs up s**te and seeming how you have'nt been around the corlanes brake you really can't comment on the performance level.I am not a big fan of brakes either, however the two gentlemen who are doing the field research on this particular brake are straight shooters that can and are to be believed with their results.
Sorry about your hearing loss and its guys like yourself that the group working in industry now use as a model for what to protect yourself against.RB

Hi Camp Cook
Man your taking a lot of artillery. Sounds like a lot of fun actually. If going for Grizzly don't you think the 375 Ultra Mag is good enough for everything. I would load twice as many Nosler partitions and leave the Game King home for fun shooting. Have a good trip and good luck.

My hearing loss happened as I actaully stated earlier due to both the loud work place which you haven't a clue what kinds of noises or levels I was exposed too as well as shooting firearms so thanks for giving me a lesson on what could or could not have caused my hearing loss.
Let me clarify my statement it doesn't matter if your firearm has a brake or not if you promote others to shoot said firearm that is any firearm without hearing protection is my issue this could and does contribute to hearing loss of others that are taking this advise.
I have no issues with a brake on anyones firearm if they are intelligent enough not to destroy theirs or anyone elses hearing it is far to great of a loss that can be easily prevented with proper education and equipment.
I also never once commented for or against the quiet brake being discussed in this thread my comments where directed against shooting firearms without hearing protection and those that promote shooting without protection to others.
Do you know of any reputable outfitters in BC you can refer me to?not everyone lives in Alberta![]()

BC has an estimated 17,000 grizzly bears compared to Albertas 500-1000
Hi Steven. I was under the impression that they were an endangered species. I apologize if I offended you. Too many tree huggers around me. Can you direct me to any outfitters? Would a 375 Ruger suffice? How many grains? What brand? What scope do you suggest? I wish to get used to the gun on the range like a second skin. Thanks guys first SORRY JASON YUKE I was tired and then tired of introducing a new product that does work..I WILL stop preaching..I DO APPRECIATE THE CONCERN OVER MY HEARING , THANK YOU.
mCKILLAN If you only knew just HOW funny your provost comment was..funniest comment in 30 years of hunting..private joke...
and YES I wish "the other was bigger also "..lol..
I have guided for grizzly professionally and still have a 100% success rate something I am somewhat proud of..I have helped friends and guys on this and 3 other forums get 11 grizzlies..and have personally been in on 20 grizzly harvests..not the most but more than many??I have personally been responsible for many others saftey..both paid and by virtue of going along with those that knew nothing about just how tenacious a grizzly is..yes I could have went with a 300wm..however I chose the .338wm based on those 30 plus years around grizzlies..and IF ya havnt ever hunted or shot a grizzly please ..it is not just an oversized black bear..and you definatly do NOT want to go into the dark west coast forest after a 900 pound yes 900 HUNDRED POUND BEAR...

Okies.that article is 7 years old and is a bunch of BS
Sounds like he didnt' know he was dead yet....congrads.
Ive been shooting my Sako AV in .338 win mag quite a bit lately and Im starting the think the factory recoil pad...I mean the burgundy/orange rubber puck they installed on the sock will have to be replaced.
I only want to develop one load for this rifle that will drop anything I will ever want hunt, Ive only owned the rifle for about a month so I think the 225 gr. Hornady IL moving at 2800 fps will do until proof of the contrary, I hope to have a favorable report in the next couple of months.
You should be able to get a 250 up to 2800 in the 338 Win.
