Nope, but it was quite a handful for River Rat and I, even with the guts out. Pretty big for a black bear.
Nice bear Ted, love the colouring. As others have said, details on the rifle always appreciated. If you believed half the "stuff" on these forums, you would never have tried actually shooting a bear with a cup and core bullet. Of course, many more "experts" that talk about hunting than actually do much!
The rifle is my old pre-war Model 70, that I had rebarreled with one of Les Bauska's cut-rifled tubes about twenty years ago. The stock eventually gave up, and I "temporarily" put it into a RamLine until I could get another decent stock. It shot so well that I left it in there.
The RamLine makes it even better than a Stevens 200, right?
