General Prohibition on .223 ammo soon?

Sounds like back in 2000 when I rushed out and bought my first Ar15 because no more were coming into the country...ever. I have since learned my lesson listening to retail commando's.

My sentiments exactly...

I have heard this one for 7 years now...

its completely ridiculous there are tons of 223 ammo being produce that dosent fit millitary use. Go see your friend and tell him he is full of it. wadge money on it you will make a profit for shure.

Whew

This post had me worried for a sec. I just closed a deal on an H&K SL8 today and haven't bought any ammo yet.

Of course, everything I read on CGN is treated as pure truth... :p

Ammo supplers

+2, And methinks that any ammo shortages at your local shop can be attributed to the shop not doing it's homework and finding a better wholesaler/importer, or just being plain lazy.

Also keep in mind that Monopoly's are a traditional Canadian business practice.

How many importers/ ammo distributors do you fellows think there are in Canada? Retailers in Canada can get ammo from North Sylva, Northern Tackle, Inland Pacific and maybe one or two other Distributors. Thats it.
So saying that a dealer is not doing his home work and sourcing ammo from other Dist. is quite a bold statement. FS

My salesman is telling me the reason ammo prices are going up for 9mm, .223 etc is also because of the war...I guess on the upside when it ends somebody will have a warehouse full of it and we'll be able to buy lots of cheap milsurp.

.223 shortage? Not in my house.

15K cases, 20K primers, 40lbs of Win748 and more than enough projectiles to load them all a few times over. Let the war last for the next two decades, I'll still be shooting the crap out of .223.

Always rumours going around about ammo shortages, take your pick for the reason, all the more reason to stock up on components and rid yourself of being at the mercy of the ammo makers.

Times like this make me smile for stockpiling for the last ten years while prices were cheap. I can remember buying 1K 55gr. FMJ for $40, now you need a second morgage on your house to stockpile amounts like that.

This 'Rumour' has to be in the top ten for best 'Tin-foil' of 2008

Exactly... and of 2004, 2005, 2006, etc...

check out our thread in the dealer "ammo" section...

We and CRAFM have just signed up a deal with PMC from Korea to import their whole line. :)

Its great stuff. However only the .223 and .308 are approved, so we have already placed two large orders for those natures. :dancingbanana:

Expect first grade quality .223 arriving sometime in July.

I just got back from the "tour" and these guys are really switched on!

We are waiting for a quote on the "SS109" equivilent. However, please don't ask as I have nothing more to add on this or other natures until we get closer.

Cheers,

JR

(now some of you can go bake a cake with that extra tinfoil... I like chocolate ;)

It seems like every time I walk into the local gun store to buy some ammo I'm fed some line about such and such caliber drying up, one week it's .223, the next it's .308, the last time I was in there it was 7.62 soviet....I just smile to myself, laugh a little on the inside, and get on with it. One time I walk in looking for some 7.62 nato, "nope, don't expect to see any of that any time soon" walk in a week later and there's a shelf full of it....
