Hi there; Here's the issue at hand.. Last weekend while at the range I was shooting my Rem 597 semi LR .22 and I had a shell casing rupture.. Don’t know if that’s the proper terminology however it was extremely unpleasant and scared the shi*! out of me. Consequently when this happened it blew out the extractor and other misc parts.. I was using the factory 10 shot mag with federal ammo bought from a Canadian tire. Usually I order away from Bass Pro in Toronto however the package did not come in time... Anyways, I also purchased an after market 30 shot mag to go with it.. What I have found is that this gun does not like any other ammo then the real expensive stuff and since day one has jammed after about 5-7 shots every time.. Also the accuracy of the thing is terrible... So I sent it away to a gun smith to repair the damage however after the issues with the gun, I am so displeased with it that I want to sell it and buy a 10/22... After reading the threads it seems like this should have been my first choice...
