General Prohibition on .223 ammo soon?

Doesn't have to be cheap, just competitive. I should have been a bit clearer in my post. I am thinking of the day when the surplus boats stop coming, or the price rises (CanadaAmmo says the Czech has gone up several hundred %). I doubt you would be bringing in 7.62x51 if the South African stuff were still available for the same price it was when it first started coming in. I am thinking long term.

When the Czech cheap stuff runs out and the only thing left is comercial softpoint (if you can find it), it would be nice to have a source of brass case, boxer primed ammo with the correct weight FMJ bullet, is all I'm saying.

Don't get me wrong, I am already happy about the "current" planned product line, and I will buy some of all three of the current offerings when it comes in.

Once we get teh 7.62x39 approved for import, we will add it to our list. However it is running the same price as the .308 at this time, so expect it to be priced at approx $850/1000

Good to know that cheap M43 ammo isn't totally gone yet. I hope the day of $300/1000 5.56mm returns one day too.

Instead of pissing, moaning, and speculating about .223 availability...then mortgaging your homes for a bulk purchase; solve you own supply / demand problems.

Reload.

Reload.

My time is worth way more to me than sitting there for 3+ hours cleaing, resizing, depriming, swaging thousands of pieces of brass to go and plink at the range. Sure I'll load up a few hundred 68Gr BTHP Matchs for some nice groups but I don't have the time or effort or patients to reload for 55Gr plinking.

time to get a fully progressive press then
even with my 550 I can have 400 rounds loaded in the 3 hours you claim it takes......and that is starting from dirty once fired brass......during that same three hours I can have another 500 or so cases cleaned and ready .......the next reloading sesion goes even faster cause I now have clean brass to start with........once I get a system going 11-1200 rounds in that same three hours is not impossible..........now if I can just talk the wife into the Dillon 1050 :)

I have a single stage press. If you use some "slippery" ball powder like h335, it really cuts down on reloading time. It meters like water. Once I set my dispenser for the amount I want every charge was within .5 grains at the maximum.

Usually it was much closer than that, normally around .15.

Just a suggestion for shorter reloading times for plinking ammo and 55 gr fmj.

there was a rumor about the price of 7.62x39 going through the roof because of the states ordering so much to help out the legitimate armies but the price hasent gone up much more than any other ammunition so i dunno about .223:rolleyes:
