Anyone wear shooting gloves, if so

- what make ?
- trigger finger cut off or left on ?

and what is the reason you wear them, heat from gun, sweaty palms or ??

tell me your problem and why gloves are the soloution.

I have screwed up hands, carpal tunnel and sometime's especially when cold I have no grip strength, so I want gloves to 1) keep hands warm in winter and 2) better grip when sweaty.

Blackhawk Hellstorm SOLAG

I have been using these for years.

Solves all the sweat issues, protects from dings and sharp rocks/brass when you are eating dirt.

Nomex so they protect from heat when you are running your guns hard.

Fit is perfect, they last quite a while, tho I do tend to wear outt he left thumb from loading ammo into mags....

I used to wear hatch shooting gloves for IPSC. They were for a combination of warmth, grip on the plastic pistol, and recoil abosorbtion. They did very well at all three. I stopped using them becuase the tip of the left index finger kept getting snagged when I was reloading.

Overall, I liked them. I still keep them in my bag for shooting on colder days. The neoprene is really warm.

Blaspheme!
You must plunge your hands into hot coals repeatedly in order to toughen them for shooting. Then you must deaden the useless nerves by freezing them in a liquid nitrogen bath.

Only then will you master the zen of recoil.

Err....sorry. I'm with Stormbringer; gloves tend to reduce dexterity AND sensation. Not for me...

well goingto try a par of the thinnest mechanix gloves and see if they help and how they feel..... I would like to keep shooting come winter time but unless I am i nthe indoor and the heat is turned up my hands get wonky.

shooting gloves

I just bought a right handed golf glove and it works really well for my model 500, I am even thinking about picking up a left handed one as well.

Wallmart sells a very inexpasive wrist brace that I havce used for years on my hammer hand.
Take the plastic stu=iffenrs out of it, and cinch 'er down tight - that will help your carpal tunnel stuff.
As far as the fingers go, there are some very thin gloves on the market now that work wonders for working when dexterity is needed .

the mechanix gloves are on sale this week at canadian tire. i picked up a pair of the thin ones.

I have seen video of some European shooters wearing them for IPSC rifle and shotgun, and a few that use them in revolver. Myself for handgun no way, I can forsee it making me clumsy for sure. I shoot rifle with the tip of the index finger cut out of the glove during cold weather that's it for me.
