Yard sale find.

US M-1950 gasoline stove made by Rogers. This ones dated 1966 and the aluminum case which doubles as cook-ware is 1968.

Had to try it out of course. Runs excellent on Coleman camp stove fuel. Nice little unit for camping.

Nice hat there southsask.. What are you building there?:)

Just building on the South Saskatchewan Regiment collection. Now if only my family in the SSR still had their battledress tunics kicking around.:) Guess I will track one down someday!

This one showed up in the mail on Monday. Can not wait to get it to the frame shop!

Pretty sure the SSR was billeted and trained in my Hometown (Sherbrooke,QC) at the old Fairgrounds, before going to over to England.

I have to think it'd be nigh-on impossible to run with 2 brens AND an M1A1 Thompson under your armpit... he's not even using the sling!

Okay, I'll post some pictures when they all arrive but I basically lost my mind in June:

Chi-com Tork Pistol with extra 9mm barrel and two 9mm mags;
Finn M39 Mosin Nagant;
Carcano M38;
Carcano Calvary Carbine;
Enfield Tanker revolver;
Russian Nagant Revolver;
Indian No1MkIII (1941); and
Pakistani No4mk2.

Just in time for fishing season! :dancingbanana:

Where did you get that print? I would like to get something like that for my office.

It is not a print but a genuine poster printed during WWII after Merritt was awarded the VC. There were three more of the "Men of Valour" series sold on e-bay this week and sold in prices ranging from ~$120-250.

i don't know how exciting ppl will find this, but I got a rubber shell deflector for my Valmet M78 / RPK.

No way...!

I heard those are VERY rare

I saw one at a show in 1978....guy wanted $250 for it. I thought it was alot but it sold

Is it genuine rubber or that fake tree-gum stuff?

Pre or post war??

Awsome find Clave-:rolleyes:

POF No4Mk2

This is probably one of the most interesting milsurp purchases I have ever made.

On April 26th I started a post to advise people there was a significant volume of Indian Enfields coming into Canada. The warning was not that these were Indian Enfields, but that Long Branches, Lithgows, BSA, LSA, etc... might actually end up as having been in Indian or Pakistani Military Service. A 'Caveat Emptor' call - more or or less.

This particular rifle is not a rebuild. It is an original POF built on the tooling purchased from the UK. I'll explain why this rifle is interesting in an article I intend to write shortly - but only after a degree of testing and evaluation.

Needless to say looks are missleading from time to time.

Expect publishing on riflechair.com sometime in Aug or Sept. The article will be in pdf format and will likely come out soon before Marstar's VZ-58S.

A few pictures for your review.
Look at them closely and tell me what pops to mind.
This is going to be an excellent article for people looking to buy their first lee enfield.

Well, the ISA proof probably confirms the rifle was captured by Indian forces in one of the many skirmishes between India and Pakistan.

First good pics I've seen of a POF made rifle. Interesting that it's a No 4 Mk 2, which I had thought were only made by the Brits.

Somehow the Indian and Pakistani rifles always have an aura of grunginess about them...that's my chief complaint about them.

I wonder if the Pakistanis or the Indians put the Ishy screw in?

HI CANTOM
THESE PICS ARE WITH THE RIFLE IN AN UNCLEANED CONDITION.

Very greasy and cosmo coverage is sporatic.
I'll post a few more after a proper cleaning and BBQ treatment.

The rifle is built on Fazakerly Tooling in Pakistan's Wah Cantt District. This area is now a military complex of 14 factories producing everything from small to large ordnance.

Type 'Wah Cantt' into Google Earth and see where it takes you.
