My Ti .260

I was thinkin something like a 270wsm, 7mm rm, 280, etc.

LSS comes in .280 or the 7mm-08 would be a good one too.

where can I get a scale like bartell's?..no wonder all my rifles are so dang heavy...:)mine weighs 6lbs 1 ounce....and a 7-08 has a bigger bore than a 260...

My guess is stock weight variation....

Check the antique stores for a similar scale.:p:D

Hi folks,

Thanks for all the 'nice setup'(s), it should indeed do the trick...

Rembo, indeed the original ti's are sweet aren't they, and I bet they will shoot darned near as good as the alaskan.

TB, right back at ya, I remember seeing yours posted awhile back and I thought the same, the only difference is the colour and lop.

Supercub, I had a few reasons for going with the Micky Edge, the first being I find the original stock to be a little whippy in the forend area, the grip is way to small for my hand, I like the finish on the Mcmillans better, the lop isn't long enough, no checkering on the original and finally, I've always wanted a Mcmillan stock :D.

As for the weight difference, I forgot to mention that mine is bedded as well, which will add a bit of weight, and the rest, well, add a little for the increased length and butler creek flip caps...Stock to stock variation could also factor in as well as scale to scale variation. Oh yeah, I weighed mine on a Canada Post scale...

From the research that I did on action weights etc I found a post on another site from a fellow who was puting a custom barrel on his ti that the action weighed 8 oz less than a steel one...:runaway:

Damn how I wish Talley would come out with a super low set of rings, that would be perfect.

lr...good comments on the Ti's, they are all good... a few ounces here or there won't make or break a hunt...it's just a scale race...

speaking of Talley rings...I unpacked a set last nite and mounted then on my 700 Mountain Rifle in 280 , dropped the scope on top and found out they had packaged a medium rear and a low front in the same package......now what?....

and, I hear you on the Talley ring heights...., the "low" Talley Lightweights are more like a medium......

Where did you get the Talley's Rick? I got mine form Corlane's. Anyone in Edmonton stocking them?

I just got a set of talley's for my new sub-moa vanguard from Brownells. I'm sure I could have found them locally or at least closer but an order from Brownells just gave me a reason to order some other goodies at the same time.

contact Talley about the rings if the place you bought them from wont fix the problem for you. Talley customer service seems real good and they will take care of you

PS my Ti isnt bedded, so thats probably a couple ounces there, Im sure mine would weigh the same as LR's if it was, and with scope covers. I will put scope covers on it, just waiting for the Leupold alumina ultralight eyepiece cover to arrive on backorder :)

X2 on that TB, Rembo, I got a set of talleys for my CZ .375, went to put them on and noticed that they sent me two rings with recoil stops...I contacted talley and the fellow is sending one up to replace the ill placed ring along with a postage paid envelope to return the one it is replacing.

Love my .260 in a Rem ss BDL DM. Did some work on it - trigger, floated, trued bedding... great rig for deer, bear and moose/elk at reasonable ranges.

2 pet loads: (1) 43 grn H4350 with a 130 grn TSX (2800 fps) and (2) 42 grn W760 with 130 grn Accubond (2730 fps - very accurate load!). Have some others too but this is what I've settled on.
