I'm not trying to bed my m14 into a synthetic stock. All i'm doing is filling in the channels on the top and trying to even it all out so the top of my refinished stock doesnt have all these uneven wierd usgi channels. Ok so I understand the heel or horseshoe of the receiver must contact the fiberglass stock. Mine just barely does. The receiver lugz dont sit all the way in there slots. But I figure that gives me something to work with if I clean a little material out (so they may sit a little lower). I know about the 1.5 inch space after the heel. So I'm guessing after that I can get as close to the receiver as I can, and as straight? Also the inside rails that fit down inside the stock(right in front of lugz) dont come in contact with the stock. Is this normal? From the looks of it ,really, it seems the whole receiver is floating lol. Where could it be seating?. But when trigger group is installed everything works fine. I know this is allot of question but I figure no harm in askin lol. Oh and I almost forgot. What and where exactly are the 5 degree edges on the stock we're suppose to keep?. Just dont like half ass jobs. Wanna do er up proper
If anyone can share this knowledge I would greatly appreciate it. thanks guys
