so who else is anxiously waiting the new falcon menace?

Yes there is some truth to it.
Received my notification a couple days ago. However the order wasn't cancelled, just the delivery date was extended.

On one hand I'm disapointed, on the other I'm really happy that their QC is good and I'll be getting an excellent product. We'll have to see how it plays out.

I got a 4-14 recently... I'm wondering if it's part of the good batch, or the bad one?

CyberK - any idea if the 4-14s that came in with the recent 4.5-18x56 were affected?

Finally an inexpensive scope with FFP, a good reticle and matched turrets! I'm planning on getting one with the MP-20 and 0.1mil turrets for my rimfire.

Yep got mine in too. Quite impressed and the clearity. Knobs feel good as well.
Although I thought the scope would come with some kind of documents. Like reticle details or something. No papers at all. Doesn't even say Falcon on it just Menace.

You get what you pay for. There is no worry that this scope will be replacing Leupold, NF, S&B, etc on military/le rifles in the near future.

? They didn't release any of the "bad ones". That's why there is the delay. They found the glass wasn't to their standards and didn't ship the product. A nice change considering many would have just shipped the product regardless.

I have 2 going on rimfires. 1 on a Ruger mini14 target .223 when they arrive.

All 3 were ordered with the MP20 reticle. I decided to stay with the moa turrets since it's what I'm used to. It was a tough decision though. Almost went metric.

As was posted on Snipercentral, the latest order has been delayed. Everyone who has a preorder has been notified and will get priority on the new order.

As for anyone who got one of the six in the last order, don't worry, they were original production scopes and were tested and passed QC.

The problem with this latest batch was that the glass that was sourced from Japan for the lenses did not meet the optical quality that was originally ordered. Falcon is very concerned about customer satisfaction and would rather wait than release an inferior product. As hard as it was to tell people there would be a 6-8 week delay, it would have been even harder to accept 40 returned scopes because they were no good.

I realize that this scope is not in the same class as NF and the others. I do wish I could afford them. I've never even looked through one.

But when you spend $400 bucks on something I think you should see some paper work. Like what is the warranty on this scope, where to contact, who the company even is, mildot info etc. The box doesn't even have a name on it, just black. I would hope there is some kind of warranty, but I have no idea. I also bought a $240 Vortex scope the other day, came with a bunch of paper work, and tells you lifetime warranty.

Don't take this the wrong way, I do like my new scope. I think its great. I'm just saying they should improve a little on their marketing.

Did you get a reciept??
How do you know these are even legally imported then?
It's like buying some brown box special from under the table at a flea market.

I think if you had a problem with one of these scopes Cyberk would take care of you. I've got 2 4.5- 18x 56 scopes, one on a 700 rem. based rifle and the other on an Flp10. Both work flawlessly. As far as reams of paper with your scope goes, that costs money, I'd rather have a cheaper, better product over a more expensive marginal product.

If you want info on mildots, there are quite a few excellent sources on the net. Or buy a mildot master.

You don't need reams of paper, just some information on the scope specs, reticle, turret adjustment etc and warranty/address (big one). If you are spending $400.00 for a scope these days, there better be info with the scope on what to do or where to send it when it breaks.

I guess I can take the blame for this one. Falcon does issue a small tutorial paper with their scopes in the UK. The problem with this is that the warranty information is all printed so that the customer returns the scope directly to Falcon.

With International distributors in Canada and the US, there is no paperwork issued. Perhaps I will take a copy of the Falcon documentation and make it my own and include it in the package. I am sure this will make most people happy, but there will still be some who complain that it is not enough :)

I will try to get this sorted out for the next order and judge the reaction from there.

What is the main difference between them, which one is better?

Metric is .1 mil per click...and the reticle is in mils so you don't have to convert...if you go MOA reticle i believe they are 1/4 inch per click so you'd have to convert from mils to inches...i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong but basically MP20 with metric should be simpler to use, less conversion.

Can you compare falcon scopes to other scopes?
I need a comparison

I have a Falcon Menace 4.5-18x56mm, a Leupold Mk4 8.5-25x50 and a NF 8-32x56mm, a Leupold VXIII 8.5x25x50...and a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40mm.....and for functionality (target turrets, reticle) it's truthfully not far behind any of them and better than the Bushnell...i love the MP20 reticle i think it's better than the Mil-dot on the Leupy and very similar to the R2 on my NF...the knobs are a bit softer and not as definite a click as the leupy or the NF, the glass isn't quite as good but it seems to be close to the Bushnell...on the range it works great..the click are accurate and repeatable...i've fired over 1000 rds with mine already (on .308) and it's performed perfectly..and for 1/4 the price of a NF or the Leupold it's hard to say no..in fact i've got 2 more on the way...i believe in them that much...they are great for the price, it isn't in the same league as far as optics go as the NF or the Leupold but it's perfectly fine...i've been firing up to 600m and i can't say that there's much difference until i hit the NF which does have noticeably better optics than the leupy...but the Falcon is right there with the rest..i wouldn't care if i had either..and for a 1/4 of the price that says alot! just bite the bullet and get one..you won't be kicking yourself forever if you throw 400 bucks at a scope and it doesn't live up to your expectations i'm sure you could always sell it on here...hell give me a shout haha...they are really a great buy for the price.

We are putting in our next order for 4.5-18x56 tonight. They are sitting in the UK waiting to ship. We should have them late next week. We have 24 in the order and 7 are already spoken for.

The 4-14x44FFP order that was delayed should be shipping from Falcon by the end of the month.

Good stuff about the 4-14x. But what do you bet they ship while I'm out of town on vacation?
