New shotguns, MAG-FED and SHORTIES - NEW PICS

My 12.5 just arrived last week, but I haven't had a chance to look at it till now, but I think I have a problem...

Loading up four A-Zooms, I was able to rack and eject the first 3, but the 4th stayed in the chamber. Racked it again, but 4th would not extract. Pulled the slide back, tilted the barrel up and the shell popped out thanks to gravity. That "catch" that should grab the rim of the shell just would not latch on.

Reloaded 4 caps again, this time leaving the one "suspect" cap on the table. This time caps would get stuck in the feed tube, or if they did make it to the chamber, they would not extract.

Being that I'm a total novice at 870's, I have no idea what I should at to fix this problem. All 6 A-Zooms cycle perfectly in my Mossberg and Grizzly MAG, but put them in my 12.5 and it fails to feed and/or eject more than 80% of the time.

I have to be honest here. I have NOT even cleaned the packing grease/crap out of the gun yet. Not going to do that until I have 3-4 hours to do both Grizzlys properly, but I have a hard time beliving that grease would interfere with the loading & extracting of shells.

If anyone has ideas, I'm all ears. I can post pictures if required to help troubleshoot this.

Thanks in advance!

Man, how come everyone else seems to have theirs already?! People in Alberta and Ontario! I live like 10 kms away and am still waiting on mine! I'm sure it'll be worth the wait, though...

I ordered mine an hour and a half after they became available so I guess I was front of the line.:D:D:D

and Salvo I would clean and oil the whole thing first, the grease they pack it in is quite stick and may attract all sorts of grit and gunk, a can of break cleaner is your friend:D

Oh but not the forearm's friend!

Salvo your main issue is most likely that you have not cleaned it up. Give it a good dunging and then cycle the dummy rounds through several times to allow everything to seat in. Remember also to clean the recess at the top of the barrel where the bolt locks into.
Mine didn't lock up a couple of times when it was brand new until I cleaned the gunk from it. Next time the problem happens check to see if the bolt is fully closed and action locked, I suspect it might not be fully locked up...again that should work itself out in a few dozen cycles from my experience with them.
The 'catch' you are referring tois called the extractor and it hooks the rim of the shell like a claw to drag it out of the chamber. If it has a lot of gunk it may not be able to grab the shell. Take a quick look to ensure that it is there and shaped like a claw, then grab it and wiggle it a bit and you whould see that it is spring loaded.
Hope that helps.

ADDED: IF that doesn't work give Canam a call or get a gunsmith to check it out.
Cheers

That's just it - I ordered June 26 at noon which is only a few minutes after they became available. Yours has already arrived from across the country and I'm still waiting. I even asked when I ordered if I could just pick it up but was told no (even though I see someone else on here was able to pick theirs up a couple weeks ago). I won't be ordering a 1911 from them anymore...

I ordered mine a couple of minutes after they became available as well, and I haven't seen it.

So I wake up this morning and find this large box on my door-step. (Must have been those golf-clubs I ordered). Anyways, it appears the Canada Post delivery guy ripped off the signature required checkbox on the package and just left it there. :runaway: I guess he figured if the checkbox isn't there it's ok to just leave it...

I know this isn't the first time it's happened to people (many threads about it), but it's the 2nd time it's happened to me.

Just got to take it out today, Works great! The only hick-up I experienced was one of the mags didn't fully eject on the last shell 2 out of the 5 times I used that magazine. Other then that I`m pretty impressed with it!

I also find that sometimes.

with the follower being so high to hold the bolt open the last round does tend to stove pipe, but dose fall out when you drop the mag.

OK got board tonight:D
