.the average shooter carries 61 rounds on them and in the gun. 5 mags on a belt, 1 mag in the gun and 1 round up the pipe. that should be more than enough for a 40 round stage, or even a 50 round stage.
Yes, higher match round counts are better UNLESS they just add rounds where it is obvious they are just trying to get the numbers up to make the level. What I would like to see is making Level II matches minimum 150 rounds for outdoors and Level III minimum 225 rounds.
I hate those LII where you have 95 rounds and 5 stages.
Totally disagree here. Higher round counts just mean more mags. I think most of us can wear 6 pouches or more. Then you come to the stage with one in hand and you are up to 71 rounds. I see many guys and gals with more than that too.As for longer COF, for me it make no sense in Canada, where we have 10 rounds limit. If they (?) change our laws pertaining to how many rounds in the mag and we use more then 10, then sure, why not.
And I like the 10 round limit. If not as a Canadian law but in the sport. Seeing YouTube videos of guys hose down a 32 round stage with 1 or 2 mags is BORING! Changing mags ADDS greatly to the fun and challenge of the sport. Having everyone using the same capacity also adds to it. Having a race to see who can have the largest capacity mag is not fun.
