In conversation with Remington Canadas rep while trying to order more rifles today. Apparently the State Dept has decided that 700Police models now need to be controlled, as in considered military hardware, so are not approveing export permits for these rifles. They are claiming that these are "sniper rifles designed for police or military use" I guess the learned folks at DOS have never thought of the potential of a 700VLS or Sendero:confused:

This should prove to be interesting

Remington Canada has proposed that Remington change the "P" to mean Parkerized

It just not seem that the DOS ever runs out of weird thoughts to further make firearms ownership in foreign countries a hassle.

How would a conservative majority in Canada change the export regulations of the US State Dept?

Anway, that's a lame decision on their part.

It's always interesting to come across another person who thinks that one firearms is more deadly than another due to its marketing name.

BINGO! I wonder what any accurate rifle inthe hands of a decent shooter should be called. God forbid you call it "sniper, tactical or police" it seems.

And yes guys this is the US that is making these waves, our government is not involved, for a change, not that they would try to help anyway.
I have not figured out yet if Feinstein or Arnie are involved, but would not be surprised.

My information is that anything marketed as "tactical" (including clothing) is now ddemed controlled and is verboten from export from the US ...

Some think a Conservative majority gov't will be able to change water into wine and free us all from gravity.

If it bought them what they think they need to get ahead they'll sell us out for sure....

So dose this mean I cant buy a new one any more (unless its in Kanada already)?
I know this might sound like a stupid question but I am not sure.
I realy want one.
I would have bought one at the beginning of the month but I had some issues with my car.
