New shotguns, MAG-FED and SHORTIES - NEW PICS

BUT the drums only markings are MD20

I can't remember for sure but thought that the mag needed to be marked as such.

Ah well doesn't the question is moot anyway it does NOT fit, and I don't think they (MD)would ever make something for such a small market.

I would still like to make one myself though.

Got mine today!!Actually last night.

Gotta love the post office, theres a sticker over the "signature required" portion and the box was left with a cashier on the front desk at my work. Good thing I have to have my PAL...

But the gun look great, the finish is definatly better than the first batch.

Thanks CanAm!!!!

The 20rd drum shown on page #145 of this thread was designed for the Saiga-12, so it would apply. Aqquiring one and modifying to fit a Grizzly would not change that.

A higher-capacity Griz magazine would have to be specifically built for the Grizz and only the Griz. I would think the 7615 fiasco would be proof of that.

I didn't realize there were even any saiga-12's in country to begin with.

Umm - no i don't think that's the law. Now it's been a year or so since i reviewed that but if you modify an existing magazine specifically for use in a gun where higher capacity is allowed, i'm pretty sure that makes it legal. Especially if the modifications make it unusable in the original.

Id' have to double check the wording of the law but i'm fairly sure the magazine is considered to have been 'redesigned' for the gun you're using it in if it's modified to be used in that gun rather than the original.

I thought once something becomes a prohibited device, it remains a prohib no matter what. The spring, follower, and box are all prohib, even when disassembled.
It works that way with gun components anyway. Even the screws!

No - for example if you pin a magazine it goes from being prohib'd to legal. In fact, i'm pretty sure that if it's disassembled ti's not prohib'd either tho i'd have to double check - assemble it to a functional mag and it would be unless you pin it.

I'm quite sure we had this discussion before and looked into it and it turned out that a magazine modified for use in a seperate firearm is considered to be a 'new' magazine. I would expect it would also hinge slightly on how much it was modified. Obviously if it didn't even fit in the original anymore that would definitely end the discussion.

Again - i'm going from memory and it's been a little while, but I seem to recall that this is in fact the case - modifying an existing mag to specifically make it operate in a new brand of firearm then makes it a mag specifically designed for the NEW firearm. I'd want to double check that, but i believe that to be the way it is. And that makes sense of course (which is why i'd want to double check it - any law that makes sense with regards to firearms is instantly suspect in my mind... :) )

got my grizz today! WOW! much better than I thought it would be. nice sights (Ghost ring). everything is solid and looks great. Weighs a ton! Even the rubber butt pad is nice and soft.

Great deal! thanks Canada Ammo.

One thing though. I didnt get a pistol grip.. was I supposed to?

Another happy CanadaAmmo customer (Grizzly)

A followup to my post a few days ago about CanadaAmmo's quick order processing and good pre-sales communication...

My long, thin, discrete box arrived at the office today. That's about 10 days from when I placed the order. :) The CanadaAmmo team really gets a big thumbs-up from me for this.

As for the 12.5" Grizz itself... it's packed in the (expected) sticky grease. So it will all need to be disassembled and cleaned up. But this thing is very very solid. It's heavy, but it will be relied upon to fire slugs so the weight is fine by me. After the smooth plastic foregrip (need something overmolded with rubber) is replaced, it's clearly up for wilderness use. Sling to be decided.

Anyways, I can't say much more until I really go over it, adjust the ghost rings, and fire it a whole bunch. Finish-wise... I don't have an 870 to compare to but I'm sure the Grizz blued finish isn't Remington quality and the foregrip and stock and recoil pad are pretty low-end.

This is exactly what I ordered and $309 is great value.

I wouldn't hestitate to do business with CanadaAmmo again.

Took my 15" mag fed out today for the first time.
Excellent gun, looking forward to getting more mags.
Things that poped up I didn't like:
- the rifle sight sucks.
- the bolt hold open feature totally sucks.
- the mag release paddle could be a bit bigger and smoother/ more rounded.
- I only took one box of ammo...
All of these things I don't like are easily fixed/replaced, what a great gun.
I'm really looking forward to the semi.

I got one with my 12.5 bead sight. Ordered it in July

Well mine arrived yesterday. Picked it up today.
When it finally was shipped it got here in decent time.
I got a good laugh over the label CanAm taped to the end of the box. :D
Now to begin the project!

Huh? WTF does this display of Ithica's have to do with the thread?

+1

I remember the discussion as well and that seemed to be the accepted interpretation of the law at the time. As you say, things may have changed since then...

I couldn't stand it any longer, had to jump on the Grizzly bandwagon.

Well done CanadaAmmo!!!!
