I am having a lot of trouble getting the migratory bird licence.
The one you can get at the post office.
I’ve been to 5 different post offices in my area this week so far (aug 19 today). They tell me at the post office that the government has changed the regs’ for this year and there is a delay in the distribution of the stamps.
Is this true?
I haven’t seen any notices on the websites. Have any of you encountered the same problems?
where can i get the permits from!?!?!!?

its almost sept' and i want ot be ready to go

Environment Canada is experiencing a delay in the availability of Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permits and the summaries of the Migratory Birds Hunting Regulations which are typically available on August 1 through Canada Post offices across the country. We will make every effort to inform customers of the new availability date for the permits through our Web site.

Got a post from a buddy who said that they are being distributed Aug 20 - Sept 1, depending on location.

Spartan,

The stamps are only available at post offices, you won't find them at regular sporting goods stores.

I emailed the Feds in charge of the Migratory Licence and SHE sent me a nice reply telling me what is required to hunt waterfowel ( a licence, THAA ) and the season opening dates. But she avoided my question why the licences were not available on Aug 1 even when I told he I was planning on leaving for camp to hunt geese which opens on Sept 1 in the north?

Just spoke to Ministry of Environment and they said the Stamps and Licences have been mailed to the postoffices and they should have them shortly

Stamps are not out yet here in Smiths Falls, ON. I have heard that they may not arrive until the last week in August. They really don't know when they are coming out though, some sort of government holdup. The are supposed to be out the first week of August.

Stamps are out now and shall be ready for sale by Monday at Post Offices.
They were sent out on Aug 21.
I called the Authorities and they cnfm.
Go on Monday to Post Office as they gonna get first .
Good Luck for the Season

Must be a Manitoba thing, as both Sask. and Ont. only sell them at the Post Office....and they better get them in quickly as the season opens the 1st. here.
