I was shooting at a USPSA match last weekend, and the guys down there have normal capacity mags. It was really neat to see them shoot and shoot and shoot. One guy used two mags on a 40round course of fire. One mag change!! Awesome. So it got me thinking about getting some normal capacity mags and pinning them with pop rivets and then every time I head down to the States to shoot in a match, just drill out the rivet and when the match is over reinstall them. The other option is to pick up some of the +2 extensions and do the same thing. Install them in the States and remove them for the trip back to Canada. So does anyone know where I can get either normal capacity mags that have been pinned with rivets, or mag extensions? Maybe even both.:D

I am not sure one should air this item. Why? The Canadian Government would probably ban the attachment, too. Regards, Richard:)

If I was to install the attachment while in Canada I would be in possession of a prohibited device and would go to jail. That's not an option. Just having the extensions should not be a problem, just like having a regular capacity mag that is pinned is not a problem, unless you remove the pin while you are in Canada. I guess my best bet is to find an exporter in the States that has a valid export license and get them to sell me normal capacity mags with the pins already installed and have them shipped to Canada.

BTW

The +2 attachment will not increase the capacity if your mag is riveted. The rivet will stop the follower from dropping. It will only give you a longer mag base thats it.

I would drill out the rivet each time I got to the States. Which is really easy and quick to do with a cordless drill. Then when I'm ready to come home just pop a new rivet in. Dead easy, and quick.

just buy several clips, aint exactly a revolver, loading a new clip only takes 2seconds anyways.. which makes me wonder why its banned, how exactly is long glock clips a bad thing? ahwell

I see removing and replacing the rivet as a pain in the a$$. Why not purchase some dedicated full cap mags and leave them in the US??

It's simple. It's legal. And nobody's panties will get in a twist.

So if you were to leave mags in the US, do you just leave them with a friend? A shop? or sell them when the match is done and chalk it up to a rental?

Clips are either stripper clips such as those used to charge a magazine. Clips may also be the small little accessories used to hold ones hair back, they are not the same as a magazine.

To 90% of people they are, but I guess some people like to be anal.

This topic has been hashed before. Its not so much about being anal as it is about knowledge and respect. If one wants to be taken seriously when discussing a so called hobby. Educate yourself in proper nomenclature. Hollywood slang screams ignorance.

mags are like for ak47 and such, and clips are handguns/etc.. usually how it goes, so his anal retentive ramblings dont even make sence

mags are more external, and clips are internal

I can see your firearms knowledge base is well rounded. Perhaps a little less T.V. and gaming and a little more reality would help cure your ignorance.
