Really urban Myth I have been told by many US firearms instructors that teach both the CCW Course's and handgun course and not IDPA oriented courses ethier and several US and Canadian law Enforcement officers as well if you want to have an interesting experience go ahead and use your hand loads in self defence .If it goes to trail the 1st statement regarding the ammunition used by the DA / Prosecutor is that the hand load bullets used were specifically loaded to kill another person and that you were looking for the right opportunity to use. Using commercially available hollow point handgun ammunition reduces the risk that other than a self defence was the primary is the reason that you were charged . Remember the Prosecutors are trying to nail you ass for this why give them more ammunition
BTW Mas next time use Spell check , I Corrected your spelling you dont have to thank me![]()
If you just shot someone, I don't think there would be any doubt that your intentions were not ones of jovial greetings. Again, please cite a case where this has turned out bad for the individual. Regardless of what instructors, trainers, soldiers, or superheros have told you I know of zero cases where this "issue" was indeed a concern. Personally I would never run handloads for PD. The bad Karma associated with reloads and the burning rage that would haunt you knowing your life depended on your own handloads and they failed are enough for me to stick with factory.
