Okay I grew up here, and I can remember for the longest time, at least 20 years, buckshot of any sort was illegal for the hunter to carry in areas where wildlife was found.
Since the invasion of coyotes into the Maritimes, most provinces allow (NS at least) small #4 buckshot to be carried and used during small game season. But No legal use for deer or black bear allowed here in NS. That's fine.
My presumption is allow the NS small game hunter, to have some sort of ability to ethically harvest coyotes during small game harvest.
However, has anyone in NS actually looked over the counter of Canadian Tire stores in the HRM at shotgun buckshot ammunition for sale?
Not a single box of #4 Buckshot to be found. Lots of 0, and 00 buckshot, but NO legal size buckshot for game use in NS!?!?
What a waste of inventory and effort..........st&*)d merchants!
