Appreciation for Service Program for Canadian Forces Personnel

According to the para site. The deadline is 22 Sept 08.

Again I'm going to miss out due to lack of funds. (first 12-6--couldn't afford to get one before the deadline. Now this).

C'est la vie (You would think I would be use to this by now)
 
I mentioned this deal to a friend who has been in the army for 8 years and he explained that he doesn't have his RPAL so can't buy handguns. He said "They'll trust me with an 84mm Carl-Gustaf but I still can't buy a pistol".
 
Word is spreading about this.

Somebody at work just mentioned this to me.

I am currently serving in the CF and was wondering if they would make me a better deal on a Para 1911 SSP instead? I don't need a light rail and I'm probably getting out after my contract so I don't want Canadian Forces engraved on it.
 
IMO from what I've read the CF appreciation is just the two pistols described. The "special" price is for the program and would not extend to a pistol that is not part of the offer.
 
I wish we could put down 25% or something to get in it. If we don't come through within several months, then keep the 25%. In my perfect world, save and get one in January. Arg.

Sorry, doesn't work like that. We are continuing the program, I just don't know when the next run will go into production.
