Swiss Arms SAPR in low rate production

Hi

Saw this on another forum

htt p://theswissriflesdotcommessageboard.yuku.com/topic/5408/t/SIG-SAPR-751LB-announced-to-be-available-by-the-end-of-2008.html

JR? Redleg? Could one of you please call the nice folks over in Switzerland and tell them to watch their freaking mouths!! This thing is supposedly a refinement, not really even a derivative of the Sig 540... Not the 550! Right? Please tell me I'm right? Please?

Looks like they finally started production.

picture was taken two weeks ago at my favorite shooting range. Unfortunately, I wasn't there myself

Pull on the sling on a sig, or shoot alternatively off the mag, and off the fore grip, and let me know. 2 of the classic *s that I have had were thin barrel, but the third had a heavy barrel. The heavy barrel one was not overly susceptible to POI creep in various positions, but the thin barrel ones sure were.

PSG-1 is also free float IIRC.

An AR platform needs all the help it can get in the accuracy dept. Hence free-floating the barrel.
The Swiss Arms series doesn't have that problem.

The AR design is inherently more accurate than the Swiss Arms system by virtue of it's gas system, and it's gas system makes floating the barrel easy.

The SA system would definately benefit from floating the barrel.:onCrack:

Until the rifle stops working, becuase of that gas system, then accuracy at the minute of buttstroke category STILL makes the AR a loser to the Swiss.

IMHO, YMMV, Have a Merry Christmas!

 Based on your extensive combat experience with both systems.
