Swiss Arms SAPR in low rate production

I have bought some things in the past from these people here
3w.waffen-hiendlmayer.de/sig.htm
And I have seen a few other things ordered from the same place.
Good quality but very expensive.

Some of the things are cheap in there, but others are rediculous. $1500 for an ACOG?

$360/1000 7.62 NATO was the best deal I could find in there. I guess it all balances out in the end.

That catalogue made me want to cry.... Did the conversion from Swiss Francs, to CDN$...

K31 for $120

StGW 57 for $700!

:(

Neal

700 for a 57 is quite a lot, they can usually be had for around 300 - 500 bucks.

Prices are a bit different over here, AR's and other US products are extremly expensive, while other stuff is rather cheap (for example Swissarms rifles)

Just keep in mind guys, that the gun market in europe is WAYYYY smaller than here and the USA.

guns that cost mabey 1500 bucks here, can cost as much as 3000 in europe.

The MR223, has already come down several hundred dollars for the Euro market, from the (what was it, 3500 dollars?!) they originally had it listed for.

I wouldn't start weeping about paying 5000 dollars for one yet, no doubt it'll be a little more money (due to low production rates) but i dont think it will be much over 3500 dollars, even if that :)

just my opinion, its worth what you payed for it :D

Somewhere back in this thread i think it was pointed out that the cost of the SA's we currently get here are reasonably close to the same price in Switzerland, so that makes me believe the price will be close to that 5 grand mark.

but hey, here's hoping they'll be cheaper!

ya gun prices are f'in ugly over here. A friend of mine just paid $2100 for a Bushy XM15 - rails, sights, mags not included...

If iit's around 2.5-3k or less, then this SAPR will most probably be the "Holy Grail rifle" we've been waiting for... if it's above that, then i'll just try to find a way to get a Troy MCS for my norc M14.

If it does come to Canada I would consider it if its 4k or less. Hopefully it has a quad rail system. But I don't like the fact the Charging handle is on the wrong side like the other swiss arms rifles. But thats just one mans opinion. Any Confirmation on what mag it uses?

It all depends on whether the other 308 black rifles make it in as well. There could be the Magpul Massoud/Scar-H/XCR-M/Keltec bullpup/SAPR/LWRC SABR. If only one gets through to the Canadian civilian what ever it may be you can be sure of some price gouging. If several make it through then I feel there will be some competition and they probably will have to sell them at a more reasonable price depending also on the quanitity they manage to bring here. If there are only 50 rifles total they will cost a mint.

Just so I can follow...

What, exactly, is a "mint" for a rare rifle? For that matter, what is "gouging" in a free market?

At 84K a year to teach shooting, I'd have taken the job before they printed the job employment forums even if I was a lawyer making more then double that each year. :p

Dimitri

I'll keep the "double the money" part and pay the fee for tactical tourism. You can only be young and cool once, but money is forever.

Are you revisiting the trainer role Kev, or taking a breather from work? I'm curious, as a number of guys seem to be filtering back to NA on a permanent basis. Is this just a trend, or fact of business?

I completely disagree... We have a VERY strong reputation of FAIR pricing. To speculate that we would gouge is unfounded.

JR

I am sorry to have indirectly directed the comment to you. There are however some other dealers a few in particular who are guilty of the comments I made and the ones I am thinking of are not sponsers of this website.
