Remington Model 700™ VTR.

Neither do I, but he says he did it just once, which is why I'm asking him to post a pic. Had I heard that it was reproducable, then I'd be waving that sam flag (the BS one) :D.

Hehhe. I hear you.
Just to clarify. When I stated a one shot only group. I meant one bullet only. Oh look it measures .224. So that's a 1/4" group at 200 yards!!!
My rifles can do that as well :D

We'll probably have to wait a while for the pic. I suspect finding the right diameter pencil can be difficult.

After a few PMs with topgun, here's what I have:
- With calipers, he measured the group as .320"
- "On Target" software measured the group as .240"

The pic he sent me was very small and upside-down, so I fixed it up a bit; here it is:

I have sent pictures with info from on target to redman. It was five shots. I was wrong about the bullets they weren't nosler bt they were sierra hollow pts 55 grains. It was shortly after I bought the gun and was searching for loads. I guess I got lost in the moment and ended using the Ballistic tips. Maybe I should go back to the Sierra's. Kevin.

I have the VTR in 223. I think its a great gun. Mind you, this was my first rifle and I really didn't research too much before buying but knew the reputation of the 700's.

Its a great gun, I haven't played around much with it but I found 1 very accurate load - Nosler Ballistic Silvertips, 55gr, with 27.1gr Varget. I put up colour push-pins @ 100 yards and I pick 'em off all the time. I actually just made a batch of 50 of these loads. Mind you, I've changed the stock, did some trigger work as well.

For everyone who bashes this gun, I can understand if you have one and don't like it but if you simply don't own please don't.

Here are the pics in question (topgun, when I said do a "print screen", I didn't mean take a photo of the screen :D;)):

Hehe, normally you press the 'print screen' button on your keyboard then paste the resulting image from the clipboard to a program like Microsoft Paint or whatever imaging program you choose to use.

Unless for some reason that wouldn't work with that software...

Should clarify, this isn't aimed at Redman.

From the first picture I thought I was looking at confirmation that UFOs actually exist. I tell you I was ready to believe.

Topgun, post as many pictures as you want. Heck I'll post some of my 200 yard groups with my .22 semi auto for you. They're as good as those 200 yard .223 targets.
Short of it having been done in competition or someone on here that is well known to be an accomplished shooter having witnesses said shots. I simply don't believe it. At least not at the distance claimed. You can try pissing on my back and telling me it's raining all you want. That doesn't make it so.

Without further ado, here's my world beating .22 targets at 200 yards!!!!! Note: These were actually shot indoors at 20yards, which was written on the spot that I blacked out using a photo editor program.

I just want to clarify in case anyone thinks I'm being too harsh.

Those shots were probably taken at 50 yards or some other super short distance. Our chains are definitely being pulled here.

The most disturbing thing however is the social engineering going on. Here we have a person that can send pictures over the internet, yet isn't proficient enough to post them? Sure.... Better yet. Topgun then sends them to the one person on this thread who has credibility and has shown a willingness to want to believe that the claims are real. So now that person posts the pictures for Topgun. Instant credibility because it appears that Redman is verifying that the pictures are in fact legit. Of course we can't verify the distances which is where the credibility of the claim really falls down.

I think we have a weasel amongst us and that's being very kind.

Had VTR .308 on order but canceled it. Knew it probably needed some trigger and stock work and that was fine. Actually kinda like the gun, but after a bunch more research decided to cancel.
Good or not, in a lot of peoples opinion its a dog. (that is not my opinion). Didn't want to chance being stuck with something I couldn't unload if not happy with it.
Besides, I have a GAP TIS with USO SN-3 so what the heck did I need to order this thing for?
Still, I think the VTR is fine. Liked the way the .223 I checked out balanced. Was a nice weight as well. Just realized I ordered it because it looks kinda cool and that not a good enough reason.

I would agree Epoxy7, but I am new here and don't know anybody. I tend to give the benefit of the doubt. However your guess on the shorter distance was my gut instinct too. With out a credible witness or match score I am skeptical to say the least. Hey but what do I know? :^)

Hey, someone asked a question and I gave them the benefit of my limited experience. I really don't care if you people believe me or not. I don't know you and you don't know me or my capabilities. I live in a small town on the coast and the people I shoot with know what I can do. That is good enough for me.
This is the last time I jump in because I don't like being jumped on. Just because you can't do it does not me others can't. Kevin.
