If you say so...I`ve been using Excel bullets since the early `90`s or so, and the only problem I ever had is with the .38 double-end wad cutters...Too hard, and bulged the case...45 colt, 45acp, .40S&W, .380acp all were accurate....The plated .40S&W were also fine for cheap plinking...I would always go to the store and buy direct from Marty...He was always friendly, and I would save 10-15 dollars over what a dealer would charge per 1000rds....Perhaps Stormbringer, being nice to people, instead of sarcastic would help (giggle)
Oh I was nice.............that was my downfall.
I started to use Excel (Marty) bullets last fall.
I found them to be CHEAP but useable.......
In January I happened to be in Toronto and I made a stop at his shop and picked up some rounds for me and some other EESA members. Marty and I got to talking about EESA which he had never heard of before.
He indicated that he ran a program with other clubs in terms of taking their lead. He would pay either in cash or in trade for bullets at a discount.
I took it to the membership of EESA and we elected to go with the program.
He came to EESA on Feb 24 2008.
Myself (and critter81 I believe) and a few others from a BB course I was teaching helped Marty load 25 five gallon pails into his truck.
That woudl be over 1 ton of lead from the range.
At the same time he also brought our more bullets for various club members who wanted some bullets about 15000 rounds I believe which we paid for.
Marty said that he would melt the lead into ingots over the next two weeks and get back to me with a $ ammount that can be used to buy more bullets or just cash.
After two weeks and hearing nothing I emaile him for a status report.
He said that he had not gotten it melted yet.
I waited another month.
He appologized saying that he had been ill and would get to it shortly.
All spring I emailed, I called
NOTHING!
Then in July after trying and trying I get an email back indicating that he was in the USA and that I should send him my address so he could send out a cheque.
NO SUCH CHEQUE arrived.........
Then I hear that he has closed up shop and sold all his equipment.
THE MAN IS A THIEF!
oh as an added bonus all of the boxes of 124 grain 9mm bullets were in reality 115 grain. Well some were 115 grain.........other ranged from 112 to 118
I ended up buying 4000 rounds from unhappy EESA members ( I thought it my duty as I initiated the group purchase).
They are just CRAP bullets.........my kids use them for IPSC practise and that is about it. Utter crap.
So not only is he a thief.......he is a terrible craftsman!
