Hi Guys,

It is an early Christmas for me since the arrival of TWO scopes I had been
waiting for from Allen Gun Works. THANKS MIKE !!!!!!!

4 - 14 X 44 FFP (First Focal Plane)

and

4.5 - 18 X 56 IR (Illuminated Reticle)

I couldn't decide which was I wanted so I got both. Over the next few
weeks I will mount these scopes and try them at the range. I will also post
my results and comments for all to see. I will be as accurate as I can and
include photgraphs of my exploits..........

For now........... What was in the boxes...........

Best regards,

Bill

I ordered the 4-14 FFP for my .22; looking on the scope I wonder why Falcon offset the parallax adjust for the FFP model? It actually looks s***ty compared to the 56 model.

Not sure what the reasoning is for the offset, I can only assume it is necessary for the internal workings of the FFP reticle. I will ask Falcon just out of curiousity. I notice IOR uses the same setup.

Don't get me wrong; I am sure it works great but I noticed that the FFP is boxy around the knobs and has offset parallax. I have seen other FFP scopes and they don't do this (Leupold, S&B, etc). Gives a little less area for mounting rings.

I'm still waiting for my 4-14x scopes. Any day now. I bought these to go on three semi auto .22 rifles. I'm guessing they'll arrive tomorrow.

Looks good, thanks for the pics! :)

Damn I can't wait for my FFP to arrive. It's too bad it won't make it on time for my moose hunt this week, but some unlucky ungulates will get their comeuppance with the FFP on my 7WSM soon enough :D

I got mine last week (metric 4 - 14 X 44 FFP), mounted it with TPS mount and rings to my Rem 700 (SPS Tactical .308).

I gave it a try this week-end and it worked perfectly. It was the first time I fired the rifle too and the results were even impressive if I did my part.
I don't think for that price you could get any better.

OK so I just got my 4.5-18x56 and I have to say at first glance , it appears to be a solid well build scope. However after further inspection, I am a little disappointed that the body is not all one piece. Overall the optics are good, and it does look like it is decent quality for what you pay. I'm testing it out at the range today so hopefully it holds up.... 7 outta 10......

Well my Falcon 4-14x44 FFP arrived today. My thoughts on it - For this price this is probably the best scope you can buy - Period. I was pretty skeptical, as a 400 dollar FFP Metric scope seemed to be to good to be true. I own Leupolds Mark 4's, VXI, VXIII, S&B PM II and those scopes are great for what I paid but you definitely have to pay for what you are getting optically. Is this scope in the same league as them - no; the price is unbelievable. I got 2 sunshades, FFP, Metric knobs, and side focus. The glass is ok and it tracks (just put on the collimeter and did a box test). I wonder how long this will hold up but it definitely looks like a winner. Allengunworks shipped it quickly and while the wait was extremely painful it was worth every cent and worth the time. Here is a pic of it on my .221 FB:

The only complaint I can find with the scope is that the power ring is very difficult to adjust and the elevation knob seems to have a rough spot where it is difficult to adjust. I heard that the lens covers were crappy but mine seem to be pretty good. If you haven't got one of these you have to check them out. The boxy elevation/windage/parallax adjustment is really ghey too as it makes scope mounting a bit trickier but as the eye relief is really good it isn't a big issue beyond esthetics but try finding a scope with these specs and you are paying almost 9x the price.

Hey Glock4ever....the power ring, is it harder to turn then any of your other scopes?

I had to send back my origional 4.5-18x56ir to Frontier, but on that one the power ring was incredibly tough to turn. I got my replacement and it feels like butter, I'm thinking the origional one I had, did have some kind of issue.

How do you like the target turrents and their adjustment compared to some of your high-end scopes?

Glad you like yours!

I have the 4-14x 44mm FFP with the ML-16 reticle and metric turrets. The power adjustment knob and the parallax knobs are harder than the ones on the 4.5-18x 56mm IR. They seem to have gotten it pretty good with the last batch of the 4.5-18x, plus the glass is the same 94% light transmission. Would be nice if it was one piece but no complaints for my target/varminting uses.

The glass is pretty good. I tested the Falcons at night against my NF and Zeiss Conquest. The Conquest glass on my scopes is right up there and gives the NF competition. The main difference with the NF are the options, durability and the fact that the controls are perfect.

The glass on the Falcon isn't as good as the NF or Conquest. However it's still very good and worked well even in low light. Considering the difference in cost the Falcon did exceptionally well. The IR was also very good and with the ML-16 illuminated reticle it mimicked my NF scope very well (R1 reticle). The 4-14x has greater eye relief than the 4.5-18x. My 4.5-18x scopes are going on .223 rifles so it doesn't really matter. Lots of people seem to be running them on precision .308 rifles without any problems as well.

I'm waiting for a Stag model 6 to mount it on :D.

Overall great features, good glass and nice reticle. A very good scope for the money.

Here's how I used my 4-14x 44mm FFP scopes :D. Since this picture two are mounted. One is waiting. Top to bottom: Ruger K10/22T, Remington 597 TVP, and T/C R55 Benchmark. All are .22 rimfires.

The 4-14x works pretty well on them. Even indoors with Ok lighting these scopes worked perfectly. The fact that they have parallax adjustments down to 10 yards makes these scopes a good consideration for rimfires.

I have recently received mine and for the money I would say it looks pretty good. Will post pics after mounting.

I would echo the above posters' statements in that the power adjustment ring is frustratingly hard to turn, and that might present a problem in the field (I plan to mount this on my 7WSM hunting rifle). Anyone have a good idea on how to solve this?

The power ring is really hard to turn (like you need to really crank on it to adjust). I think I will try putting some oil around it and crank it up and down to get it to loosen up - I really don't know how else to loosen it up. On the elevation turret - I took it off and greased it and then cranked it up and down and it is loosening up a little bit. The price you pay when you get a scope that is so inexpensive I guess.
