SIG P229R picture thread

If you order the .40S&W P229, you can order a factory .357SIG Barrel for it no problems, using the same magazines and recoil spring.

The switch to 9mm requires a dedicated conversion barrel from someone like EFK Firedragon or Bar-Sto. Your .40 magazines will still work for this conversion as well.

i think theres a problem with the extractor though,, im not too familar with this . i too have a sig and at one point was thinking . 40 . and get a 9 barrel . but after reading all the hoopla i just said its not worth it. seriouslly go check out sigforum.com great place to learn anything about sigs, lot of great people over there.

If you have a .40S&W, the only other caliber you can drop in a barrel for without swapping other parts is .357 Sig. 9mm requires more than just a barrel swap.

The finish on the aluminum frame can be nicked. One thing you can try is to get the flat black marker for anodized aluminum from Birchwood Casey. I tried this to touch up some marks on my SIGs recently and it actually works really well. It is a bit of a poser thing to do, but everyone wants they guns to look good if possible.

Just make sure it is the one that is "flat black" and for "anodized aluminum", not the "blue/back" for steel.

Your local gunshop will probably have it, or you can get it from Brownells.

just a peice of advice, if you buy if from brownells . plan on paying 250 -300 bucks for shipping . as it has to be "trucked" up due to "hazardous materials"
buy local if you can
