I know what it is but what is the accronym ?
I guess this should should be in another category.

can we even get those anymore? I have only one left.
they leave a ring pattern on paper... canter is a big buckshot, circled by halos of smaller birdshot.
havent seen them in years.

Further to Thad's questions... what does LG, MG, SG and Special SG acronyms stand for?

Someone else told me SSG stands for Split-shot guage. Any thoughts.

SSG = "Stupid Shotgun."

It's what you'll say after your deer runs away after you blast it full of holes, never to be found again.

.

Special Small Game

(as qd-ziggy indicated above)

Nothing to do with swans. Just an obsolete term for buckshot. It is still used in the UK.

Years ago, Dominion-CIL had display boards for their ammo dealers that featured clear plastic shotgun hulls that allowed a potential customer to see exactly how each hull was loaded. SSG was one of the loads.

I thought they were made illegal to hunters, but I think NB is still allowed to use them. Can anyone else shed some light.
