Heckler and Koch P30L - Pics

I think that was when they were last believed to be coming. It seemed like a crapshoot for quite some time.
wow,..an HK45 and the P30-L for sale in the exchange forums,...both stating the grip is too small for their hands,....a feature I find extremely promising for normal to small hand shooters. Not sure when mine is coming in,.but I would be all over these if I wasn't waiting on my dealer/
The grip is actually quite large..... but, my fingers are very long. So, for most guns, in order to pull the trigger with the pad of my index finger, I have lift my knuckles, thereby compromising my grip. Mine is for sale, but if nobody wants it for retail price, then I'll just keep it.
I just closed the deal on one at Al Simmons yesterday.
Paulette had ordered a couple...one was presold, and she was holding the other one for me!...she is such a sweety!
I really liked the grip...I'm sure that with the options on backstrap and sidepanels, just about anyone short of a Yeti could find a combo that works.
I'm not sure about the thumb decocker on the back of the slide...not particularly ergo or intuitive, but should get better with time and use.
I have a USP Expert in 40S&W which I really like, but had to put the Hogue overgrip on it to make the grip less abrasive.
The P30, and the HK45, are definitely improvements over the USP..can't wait for the Ontario CFO to send my ATT to give this unit a go.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but with the curves, instead of straight surfaces (ala USP), as well as the ability to 'mix and match' side panels as well as backstraps, I find it hard to believe that you wouldn't be able to find a combo that you could live with.
I'm told that the transfer approval rate in Ontario has been much improved recently, so I should have the gun in my hands this coming week.
When it arrives, I will endeavor to do some comparisons with the USP and any others that people want to suggest......
Obviously didn't have a chance to do a back to back comp with a USP, but my impression was that it was pretty much the same, sucka** length, pull weight, and quality.....
Double action firing is not this series of pistols (USP/P30/HK45) forte..for sure!
ok , i wanna through an imput in this, because ive been pondering over a usp. i was at reliable on saturday, they have one there. its actually quite nice, nicer than i expected. ( i expected it to be very long. almost too long) but i was rather pleased. the grip is awesome. mind you i dont have small hands .but they aint big. its very close to size in the usp. however it just forms better. very comfy. still compare to usp. its not a HUGE diff is size for people with small hands. im still going to go for a usp over the p30l thats just my opinion though. it just doesnt have that OH WOW to me anyways. if for me it was between the p2000 and a p30l . id take the p2000 hands down.

Got this out to the range today. As expected, zero malfunctions. Trigger felt the same as a USP. In fact, it seemed identical to me. I definitely shoot better with it than with a USP; thanks to the better ergonomics and (I think) slightly lower bore axis. It's a service pistol. Nice enough, but I couldn't help thinking "been here, done this, don't need another." I think I'll stick to the high-end 1911s..... so, up for sale the P30L goes.

The grip is by no means small. There's not many pistols that work for me. I found an old pic of me palming my P7M8. I know it is a small pistol, but I think the pic puts into perspective the problem I face when it comes to grip size:

Shot it a bit today, I shoot really bad with it, too low.
I will get back to the range tomorrow night, we will see how it goes.
For the moment my first impression is excellent.
I love the grip, spent some time playing with the pannels and backstrap.
Shooting it is sooo smoooth! you barely feel the recoil.
