I started doing the same thing two years ago. I start filming as I walk towards the deer immediatley after shooting it (not rehearsed like on TV) . As I walk, I talk about what just happened (time, date, where I was, circumstances, and what I think it is, e.g. 6, 8 point, etc.). It records the details, your surprise, and your emotions. I take the stills afterwards.

Great footage....it sure brings back alot of good memories from my first. The total bewilderment, a million things going through your mind, tossing stuff on the ground...and never finding it again.
And did anyone else notice the movement in the deer's nose at :45 in the video....was he smiling or what??
