VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

    Votes: 407 19.0%
  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

    Votes: 166 7.7%
  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

Tested the new stock at the range and the rifle with the new muzzle brake became virtually recoilless. Would be perfect for FA if we only could:D. The spring tension inside the stock was just perfect but can easily be adjusted for those who like to feel some recoil. I was a bit afraid the end of the receiver will hit my cheek but because the stock is a bit longer than the original folding stock it did not happen. Thanks Deckard for the CAR buttpad idea , will work on it soon.
Here is the new brake that doesn't spray my fellow shooters on the adjacent benches with deadly corrosive gases , it spits forward and it's much quieter than side spitting ones.

Do you go around with that muzzle brake on your 58 telling mis-informed people that for some strange reason, gatling AK-47s are amazingly legal? I don't know if I could resist that temptation. :)

dammit, my brake from palinak just showed up last week, now this come's out too.
is it wrong to have multiple brakes for one gun?
and how do i go about acquiring one of those?
mucho appreciation

OK, can't seem to get results using the search tread tool (maybe it doesn't like the +4000 posts ;))

So what are you guys using for extended mag release? I read somewhere that Dlask made on (but it's not listed on their new site)... I'm thinking that I might just solder a little tab on the side...

Both cheek and grip are fully ambi.

Where's the shell deflector?:D Only kidding!

Great job! I like the colour. Looks like it was made for optics only, as it's SVD brethren. What's the length of pull compared to the original fixed and folding stocks? I found the folding stock about an inch too short and the fixed just about right.
