Crappy Tires are franchises, so the owners can do / sell what ever they want. The Canadian Tire in south Calgary for example has a large inventory of guns and shooting / hunting accessories. Unfortunately for you it sucks living in / near Miller's World.
Canadian Tire is not getting rid of pellets, if they were I am sure I would of heard something by now. Canadian Tires that do decide to expand their hunting section can order in most the items they want. The corporation however does set some limits. For example they will not allow them to carry handguns.
IMHO based on the CDN Tire stores around here, they could stop selling ammo and it wouldn't matter for me.
They never have anything decent in stock, the prices are a bit on the high side, and finding someone who has the key for the cabinet and knows how to "fill in the book" are always major issues. Same thing goes for the Walmarts.
I'd sooner pay an extra $1 a box and support the local mom and pop shop. They typically know their stuff better and have a better selection.
The sales dude in the Cdn Tire store in St-Jean, QC told me last year that they would no longer sell ammo when they run out. Apparently the public made complaints about having to walk by bullets.
I told him just wait for the onslaught of complaints if they don't sell ammo. If I have to go to the sporting goods store for ammo, I'd buy everything else there as well.
People, we have a greater worry over the next week.
If the Coup being led by Stephen Dion succeeds we will see in short order,
1.) No Democracy,
2.) No Guns,
3.) No Jobs.
Please, please, focus your efforts on writing your MP, Newspapers, and the GG and whip up public backlash against this very clear attempt at defeating a democratically elected governement by a sore loser.
Thank you,
Petra K.

My Bloc Federal MP is part of the "Coalition of Losers".
I spoke to my provincial MP twice last week and am scheduled to attend a meeting next week.
While we all appreciate and share your concern, I think most CGNrs are very politically active.
So what do you think about Canadian Tire's ammo policy?![]()
Maybe its just be but I find it strangely messed up that stores like Wal mart and Cdn. tire are getting out of selling guns and ammo.
They take ammo off the shelves for target shooters and hunters but stock up on air soft and paint balls for shooting at "people".
Is it just weird or maybe its me.
