Hey,
I just picked up a 1943 LB No 4 off the board here. Now its not my first No.4 but it is my first LB.
Just a few questions, now it is all matching bolt, reciever. magizine and forestock. There is no FTR stamp on it but it has quite a few Savage Parts, like the bands. Did savage send parts at that time in the war to LB?
Also when i removed the wood stock there is green paint under the wood all down the barrel and on the reciver under the wood, this is not a park but actual paint, is this original? what was the purpose?
All in all its in great shape with lots of C borad arrow marks, all over it, i will let you know how it shoots one i have it back to gether. It was loaded in cosomoline and I thinkits the originoal barrel as it rates between 5-7 outta ten.
any help here would be great,
regards,
gavin
